I personally think you guys will get it, and will bag yourselves a complete bargain. Amazon is big enough to honour their mistakes.

I am waiting for this outcome.
Not that I got that deal, but just to see whether Amazon honour its deals.

Hey guys, just like you all i pre-ordered literally at 13:01 pm for both the iPhone 12 64GB Blue and the iPhone 12 Pro 128GB Pacific Blue, quite excited like every year and currently seeing preparing to ship on both and seeing both due for Friday 23rd (launch day). I'm seeing reports that americans are able to track theirs on UPS but i presume ours would be UK Mail/DPD? Anyone had any luck?

UK launch deliveries are all from Syncreon Logistics in Hinkey. Once they get scanned in you'll get your tracking info.. its either DPD or UKMail. People who have ordered for store pick up won't see diddly squat for tracking :)

i find it ridiculous that they wait that long every year for this, like the phones been announced, just let big companies like The Verge, Bloomberg, CNET etc do the reviews, makes sense to so people are able to make a decision quicker in case they were waiting for reviews to come up and then buy and have to wait longer for delivery
they'll never lift embargo videos before pre-orders.. look at all the hype just to get one! if reviews came in a bit 'meh' stick with your 11 then you can imagine people being put off

i’ve had an external hard drive cancelled before due to a pricing error and also another item (i forget what now).
I’m glad I got an order in, but don’t expect them to fulfil it.

Hi everyone. Need some advice, I have ordered an iPhone 12 for collection on Friday at the apple store and now I'm thinking of getting into the iup. Will I be able to do it in store on the day. Also, can i change the phone later on if im not happy with the size of 12 if i sign up to iup?
I should think so. And yeah AFAIK iUp is subject to the 14 day return policy like anything else. The process would actually be you returning the phone you don't like, cancelling the iUP, and then doing a new one with the second phone. The only risk is that they might not have it in stock, I'd have thought....

Hi All, just looking for info from those who have already ordered. Hoping to preorder the max pro 256gb on the 6th Nov. Would prefer a store pick up.
When pre ordering and then collecting from store, can i, if offered the 13th nov pick up change to the 14th sat? I’ll be off on the sat and therefore won’t need to rush to a store after work.

thanks in advance.

yes, yes and yes. you'll have Apple's standard 14 days to change your mind. for the XS, I went IUP with a XS Max, then down to a standard XS when I realised the max was too big for me, and then that had a chip in the edge so had a 3rd one. when you're in IUP you go through the whole sign up process each time but it was all quick and painless

104 hours doesn’t sound too bad
5 days makes it feel horrible
5 more sleep makes it manageable
4 more sleeps from tomorrow makes it sound like a breeze 😂

While I am expecting the orders to be cancelled and won’t be disappointed if they are, I shall certainly be arguing with their Customer Service team if and when it happens. I think a £10 or £20 gift voucher is the most likely outcome. 😉

i will be with you in complaining. While I expect they will cancel I also think they should honour the orders. In the end of the day they get so much money from me a year they should swallow the generally minor loss in relative terms for them. I do wonder how many orders they got. Maybe a 1000 orders meaning they lost £20k overall (assuming average loss of £200).

So does Apple input pricing and products? So could this have been Apples mistake?

I’ve never seen a business page like Apple’s on Amazon so I did wonder myself whether it was amazon who set the price or Apple. We could be blaming amazon if they cancel our orders but it could be apple’s fault. I don’t think the iPhone’s on amazon sold out I think they were pulled. I was trying to order the 256gb first in all colours and it kept erroring at different points and the 512gb models were nowhere to be seen so I think somebody was manually pulling them from being sold.

Had a right nightmare with my iCloud account. Had issues with keychain not loading all my passwords when I moved from my 11 pro down to the SE for the week. Had to restore 3 times and then only after I’d decided to resort to an iTunes backup and restore and completed the backup to my Mac did the keychain update on the phone.

After all that faff I’ve decided to go with a clean slate and start the 12 off as new and not restore.

All the data will come down from iCloud and I’ll get the chance to prune all my apps down and sort it out.

Also I’ve manage to abstain from ios14 so will be great starting new with it!

So are you all restorers or going clean?

Wasn’t the Amazon issue selling the 128gb Pro model for £849?
For some reason I’m rather expecting those who ordered to get a standard 128gb 12 model delivered instead as that’s the rrp for that model.
I have seen that happen with other items from them before.

if they did that they’d be in breach of uk sales of goods act and would have to send out the product we ordered. Amazon would only be able to cancel the order before taking our money if they take the money they are accepting the contract. Plus the colours aren’t matching I ordered a graphite model and there isn’t a graphite 12 only a 12 pro.

Right, but people will discover the “flaws” or “downsides” eventually once the reviews are out or once they’ve got the phone in their hands and will just return the phone if they are unsatisfied within the 14-day period. So basically all you’ve done is delayed the inevitable.

Yeah, idk what’s the point of an embargo on these videos. I know the reviews aren’t always 100% positive, there’s always some downsides (whether it’s battery life, or camera quality, or whatever) but even if you don’t tell people about it before they pre-order the phone, they will discover it anyway once the phone is delivered and return the phone if they don’t find those downsides acceptable. The embargo isn’t going to stop anything!

The embargo is there so that it gives all these sites and Youtubers an equal chance to put as much effort as they can on these hands-on video because iPhone month is $$$ for a lot of these sites/channels.

It’s pretty much every year, probably the day or two after getting my phone, I’ll be like ‘don’t know what the fuss was about’

In all honesty this year is an incremental update at best and the biggest selling point was 5G... not even something they ‘innovated’

But given that, I’ll have my phone in my hands and will never return it. I’ll just move onto the preorders for the home mini!

I don’t think Apple are worried about people finding flaws or receiving bad reviews. I’m almost certain the reviews will come back along the lines of “not much of an upgrade, don’t upgrade from iPhone 11 unless you want the latest and greatest. If you’re coming from an older model then it’s a decent upgrade”
Apple just want to increase their exposure during this 2 week period as much as possible. If you have an even, release reviews and do preorders in one week you get a little over a weeks public exposure. Stager them over two weeks and you bundle the exposure with the orders arriving and you probably get 3 weeks exposure. It’s all PR.

But this is something I don’t understand, Apple will be making A LOT of money from sales, and a lot of exposure. I’m pretty sure that the last thing they care about is other sites and channels also getting big £££ out of Apple’s creation

Was thinking about this today, I am tempted to start off as new but downloading apps again will be a bit of a pain. I might restore from backup and then do a 'Reset all settings' so that the phone feels new but all my apps and data remains.

That was the big reason I wanted to get my keychain sorted. I’ve gone and used Apple generated password for every site I use... it’s to the point I don’t even know the different passwords for things! All 16 digit random strings.

All the apps I use now allow to pull passwords from keychain so no issues about setting up him and I quite like the fact that I’ll have to download them again as I’ll only do the ones I remember or I need to use. Probably have pages of apps I don’t ever look at right now

First time back on ios this will be so starting clean for sure. I've seen ios14 up close on a 1st gen se which wouldn't have done it justice. All I did was add a couple of widgets to see what they looked like. I didn't delve into settings deeply on purpose as I kinda knew I was ready to leave Android and Samsung for a while.
