I asked a question on here a few days ago about what happens if order phone on Barclays finance WITH a trade in (which reduces monthly payment), but subsequently decide NOT to trade in. Th general response was that Apple would charge your credit card for the trade in amount, but payments would stay at reduced amount.

I just did an online chat with Apple and the representative said different, and that the finance payments would increase, if the trade in was cancelled. If this is true then have to assume Barclays approve credit based on full cost of handset rather than net of trade in value.

Has anyone done this when ordering their phone and can confirm what information they were given in the confirmation/terms as to what happens if they don't send in the trade in device??

Thanks

This is quite surprising. It defeats the purpose of locking in trade-in cost to your payment (credit/debit).

It is quite a substantial difference compared to trade-in and reselling to companies like MM.

I did only trade-in for the purpose of security such as iCloud data. Albeit assuming that data wipe will be safe, there may probably be a way to recover if selling to third parties. For that, I need to bite on £80 difference.

I believe they do offer a period of free Apple+ TV (if you haven’t had it before) but it may be for less than a year now.

I’ve had it for the last year and haven’t been able find anything that I want to watch to be honest. It’s no Netflix for sure.
I thought 'Trying' was really good if you haven't, err, tried it yet. But there's been nothing else that makes me want to carry on the subscription when the trial period ends. Tried Ted Lasso and didn't really get the hype, was a bit cringeworthy - YMMV though!

Would be good to know what the terms say when you actually process the order using finance and trade in together. Anyone got these???

Absolutely loved Ted Lasso by the way, and from the trailers I didn’t think I would.

Email from Music Magpie this morning saying they've sent my payment for the full £570 quoted for my 11 Pro 64gb :) Posted at the post office on Wednesday and should have the money in my account today it says

very easy process, first time ive used them :D

Now the paranoia of me not entering the correct account number...

How did you manage to get that price. They offered me £475. Managed to sell it privately for £600.

The Long Way Up is a brilliant watch.

Is anyone getting iUP/instore pick up worried about lockdown? I’m seeing a lot on the news this morning about further restrictions.

Assuming your nearest Apple store is not close? Can’t see stores closing so it will come down to local restrictions and if people are willing to travel

Great news! Just posted mine off today so hopefully have it processed by the end of the week.

Have just MM loads for different items, phones, MacBook, dvds etc and never had a problem with them

The Morning Show is excellent. Great cast and good story line. Only other thing we watched was the Tom Hanks film 'Greyhound' which hubby enjoyed but I found a bit boring. It looked and sounded great on our new telly and soundbar/sub woofer though. Tehran and Long Way Up on list before my free year ends though Tehran looks quite scary!

For Wales, expect an announcement re lockdown around 12.30 today. Rumours are lockdown from 6pm Friday and all but essential shops to close but as I said announcement expected shortly so we’ll know for sure then.

arent they do the lockdowns while the schools are shut for half term which is another week away for us in Manchester

...some are shut this week for half term (my eldest is off this week) but yea I do agree, if they do this 'circuit breaker' thing, it would be during half term.

I don’t think it’s something that we need worry about as retail stores will remain open.

...100% this 👆🏼

64gb Unlocked in working condition, plus an extra £20 using the code 10EXTRA

It depends when you locked the price in, I did it I think around the 9th, just before prices dropped because the 12 was announced

I'm holding for the Pro Max but am rather jealous of everyone on here that's getting a new phone this weekend.

I mean I keep looking at the price difference and thinking what’s an another extra £100 when I’m already spending £999 on the Pro 😬

It’s the not knowing how I’ll find the larger form factor in terms of ergonomics, coming from an iPhone 7 lol

Exactly! I’m afraid that whilst I do love Apple products I have no doubt about the company’s hypocrisy when they claim to have got rid of the included charging adapter and earphones for environmental reasons. Where is the corresponding reduction in price for the consumer?

The pro models have dropped in price by £50 compared to last year. An adapter and headphones will probably cost apple about 50p if that!
