Sent my iPhone 11 Pro Max to Mazuma to day. We wait with bated breath to see if I get the price offered.

What did they offer? My best price seemed to be magpie on last check.

If anyone gets a voucher code that works then do shout and I’ll add to the FAQs.

....that Navy Blue iPhone this year is looking mighty nice.

Ah yes it does look good! Will be the colour of choice no doubt for us early adopters.

Pretty sure the green was last year.

Only thing is it ends up being in a case and never seen

Well, I got the money Mazuma offered me. Just got to wait until they announce the new phone. I may even get another 11 pro if I do not like the 12, but it will be the 265GB instead of the 64GB.

Quite likely they’ll stop the 11pro once the 12 is out so you’ll have a week or so before it hits the shops to pick one up.

That’s obviously if getting from Apple, can imagine there’ll be plenty of other places they will have it thou.

I’ve been put off even buying from John Lewis. Missus had a bad experience with some AirPod pros from them. Told her only go apple!

I have been looking on Amazon they are doing the 11pro 256gb for £1070, that is quite a bit less than the Apple store, and Amazon are Apple authorised sellers ( like John Lewis who are selling it at the same price). In fact there are one or two who are selling at that price, Curry’s, Argos. So should be okay. Although I will probably buy the 12 pro as long as it starts at 128gb.

I think I’m going to go for the pro max this year after having the regular 11 pro for the past year.

128 would be perfect if it did. Must have missed the rumours saying it was bringing that back.

Only on 80gb so would be happy to move down

I'd love the new iPhones to return to the old square designs of the iPhone 4 and 5 - my personal fave designs!

Good to see this thread on again!

From memory JinJin, I remember on the last thread you are on the iPhone Upgrade Programme but did you sell your iPhone privately beforehand? Does that work out better?

Has someone done the sums given the "delay" in launch this year?

I am on a 11 Pro Max Upgrade Programme but I have found the phone too big so will swap to maybe even the 5.4" regular 12.

Is it worth selling it now or just go ahead and do the swap with iPhone Programme?

How do we think this will work, will Apple announce the iPhone event date next week for the week after (14/18 Sept), and show the 12 but not put it on sale till, say, Oct/Nov. Or will we just hear nothing until they are ready to release it. I am still torn between the 12 and the 11 pro 256gb that quite a few places are doing for £130 off. I would like to see the new one though before making my mind up.

Hi, that’s right! Am on IUP but sold phone on music magpie before the new one came out and then paid off IUP and was left with a profit. Can’t remember how much now but was more than £100.

Need to run the numbers but given we’d have paid at least 1 more month of IUP up for the delayed phones, there would be even less to pay off.

You could just hand the phone back to Apple and start iup again but for me it’s just giving money away.

If you sell now you’ll get more for your phone than what you will after the new one is announced. If you have a phone to tide you over for a month or so is sell now.

I never had a backup phone but the wait between selling my Xs and getting 11 pro was less than 2 weeks so I bought a phone from Apple and then gave it back inside the 14 days being careful not to have caused any damage etc.

Have to be honest,
I need to do some more reading on this.. but what’s the view in biggest difference between the 6.1” iPhone 12 and the pro in the same size. Both will be oled so assuming it’s just the lidar and maybe better camera?

That's what I assumed, better camera and maybe the option of mmWave 5G in certain countries.

Think I’ll wait until 2021. Not fussed about 5G or LIDAR and 120Hz up in the air so we’ll see what happens. PS5 on the horizon and in need of a new TV which already has my wallet trembling so may have to pass. But... I could always change my mind (like I do every year)

Next Gen could take priority. X or S Series or ps5 digi.
I have found determination to complete iPhone XS contract -early 2021.
5.4 iphone 12 could be useful -not before late 2021.

@Jinjin Is there any difference when it comes to actually getting the new phone depending on which route you take? i.e. is it any quicker/easier etc if you're handing the phone back to Apple and therefore just 'upgrading', whereas presumably if you do what you do you're essentially repaying and ending one deal, and then starting a brand new iUP deal? Or is it the same process in terms of getting the new phone whichever you do?

Wonder if they will say anything about the iPhone?

I'd love them to discuss the iPhone but I doubt it.
