Doesn’t look like there’s any leather cases for the 12 this year? Just that stupid wallet looking thing...

Such a weird decision if that’s the case, that’s been my go to for the last 3/4 years.
Had a silicon once but it didn’t last to well with bits falling off the bottom and by the volume buttons.

I don’t get the lightning to USB-C approach? is this the only cable included or will it come with standard USB does anybody know? I don’t own anything with a USB-C port although my wife’s MBP has these. I’m not sure the mass market is quite ready for this as even my brand new Dell laptop hasn’t got this capability.
Wow, they might as well have just left that out too. Not everybody uses Macs and has devices with these ports. What a very strange decision
Agree it’s strange, particularly when they say the reason to exclude power adapter is people already have lots of power adapters.

its closer to 1.30 than 1.20 its 1.29 and been well above 1.30 at times this year

america have announced that fiscally they don't expect interest rates to be increased in the short to medium term and thats there intention to go for growth and will even accept increased inflation rather than raise rates. from my calculation its around 10% more expensive for us than states after sales tax/vat

i could be off though as i was up at 3.30am this morning and running on fumes at the moment lol

Sorry i wasn't very clear. When i say it's $1.20/£1 i meant that's what apple are converting the price at. The currency exchange is affectively $1.30/£1. Comparing what apple charge for other products UK vs US $1.20/£1 is the best they currently do. They won't set prices at the current exchange rates as the exchange rate within a year can fluctuate quite a bit especially in the current climate. They're just hedging their bets which is fair enough.

Excluding a wall adapter and earpods while keeping the price the same (in the US) that's just apple being greedy.

Bit ticked off by the exclusion of the wall adapter they're providing a USB-C to lighning cable. I don't have a USB C adapter and they've never provided one in an iphone before have they? So really they spout the environment but they just want to improve their bottom line. Any links to a non apple wall charger to fast charge the new iphone's?

Have you removed VAT from the UK price to do your comparison?

Query about the upgrade programme:

My nearest Apple store is either Birmingham or Manchester. What happens if they’re in a three tier lockdown on the day I’ve reserved for? I’m guessing I’ll have to skip my reservation as I won’t be allowed to enter the city?

Please stop posting your guesses as fact.

All four networks use the SAME band for 5G, and NO, you don't need a new sim.

Nope, people just making s*** up, the 12 covers all bands required, in fact it covers far more bands than are in use.

I don't think you can say i was posting my "guesses as fact" and making "s*** up" when i said in the post you are referring to that i was waiting for somebody to correct me. In my original post about it i provided the links that i used so people could check themselves and again correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes, iphone 12 is £799 INC VAT £665.83 Excluding VAT to calculate the effective conversion rate i then divided the US price by the UK price ($799/£665.83) = $1.20/£1 :)

It's only fair to calculate it without the VAT as it's a consumer tax and the US include their sales taxes on top of the retail value.

Sucks if that were to happen.

I don’t know. Seems a bit of an oversight given the current climate that you have to goto a store to do it.

I’ve been on the upgrade program since the 7 plus and always upgrade each year. Normally do it in the Liverpool store too!

Got dam it ! I wasn’t going to go for a new phone this year then they bring out that blue colour.. I must have it

Any one know how the trade in works when buying online. If paid in full do they then refund the trade in once They’ve received my old phone ?

Could be an issue at any Apple Store in the UK potentially as the “direction of travel” in the UK appears to be towards a ’circuit break“ lockdown where non essential retail would be closed down. Something to bear in mind if anyone is planning to do the iUP.

That’s what I thought. I don’t see why they can’t do credit checks online via Barclays?
