I understand that Currys have a reputation that's probably well earned (they've let me down enough in the past!)... But I think there's a lot of (currently) unwarranted worry about the iPhone 12 Pro Max's for tomorrow...

There seems to be this Tweet ( ) tagging Currys, accusing Apple of "really hating them" and saying that they had iPhone 12 Pro Max's for delivery on the 13th, and now they're saying they have none...

Despite there being no evidence of Currys not delivering tomorrow other than one potential DM which could be in reply to this Tweet, which was then subsequently sending another DM to retract that... There's been no other statements, no e-mails going out, phone lines aren't saying they won't be delivered tomorrow, web chat aren't saying they won't be delivered tomorrow. If there was an issue, I'd expect Currys to be getting on top of expectation management early for a launch this big...

Looking at Currys website, some SKUs (like the 512GB Gold here: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/phone...hone-12-pro-max-512-gb-gold-10215626-pdt.html) are still showing delivery tomorrow if you place an order now... Others like the 128GB Graphite were available for delivery tomorrow earlier, but now aren't.

The simple explanation would be that Currys ordered and have an allocation... Some are no longer showing on the website, because that initial allocation has sold out. That's not the same as them not receiving stock for tomorrow's deliveries.

That online chat says that your delivery date is still tomorrow. You may not believe them, and I understand your concern because they said that their stock is arriving tomorrow... So logic would raise the question of how can they deliver if they don't receive them until tomorrow... But when you pressed them, they told you not to worry and you would get your delivery tomorrow...

Most likely, they have stock arriving today or in the early hours of tomorrow... And they haven't filled all of their pre-orders (512GB Gold linked above proves they haven't sold all of their pre-order allocation), and the stock will be being despatched to fulfil orders to arrive tomorrow, and the remaining stock will then be "received" into Currys standard stock systems to be managed and sold for new orders...

I would expect that with a massive launch like this, that phones will be received centrally and they'll be a massive operation bagging up and shipping these phones, with couriers on standby. In the past few years, a lot of us have probably seen courier tracking start at 10pm, 11pm, even 1am or 2am and still reach us the following day.

O2 even have a standard "last order time of midnight for next day delivery" if they have them in stock and ordered Monday to Friday. That's their standard delivery policy... I've ordered a phone from O2 at 23:47 and had it delivered next day. I genuinely didn't think it would work... But it did.

So, at the moment, I think that we probably should all keep our fingers crossed and hope our 12 Pro Max's from Currys will be delivered tomorrow. I have mine and the better half's (256GB Graphite and 128GB Graphite) so I really hope I'm right here... And I want to get our old phones shipped off for recycle payments...

I do reserve the right to be proven wrong here... And Currys have screwed things up before so deserve our caution... But I'd be really interested to know how/where this rumour or knowledge started from in the first place... Because Currys didn't just send a random DM on Twitter to one customer unprompted about there being no 12 Pro Max's being received to be delivered for tomorrow, and there has to be a reason behind the rumour starting... Although at the moment, the caution seems more feelings based than fact based, but willing to revise that if there's more information to understand!

Anyone else get a 1 years free apple tv with the IP12 pro max order?

Can it be used without a apple TV device? i.e on a mac mini?

Yeah, no.

Currys have a history of doing this - it is from experience that we all probably have gone through at some point.

You'd think they'd learn but they don't - just want orders from people and don't really care if they get launch day delivery. Again coming from experience - this is why I buy direct from Apple now.

After the stress & uncertainty i had with CPW for the X delivery, I have vowed to never use anyone but apple for pre-orders. Will only use carrier if its not for pre-order like it did for the XS Max as that was Post Xmas

I was meant to be keeping busy today with uni but the only two lectures i had today have been cancelled so now just keep refreshing the tracking hoping for updates and this forum.

Need something to kill the time until tomorrow

Apple dispatch email at 11.20am, looks like I’m in the DPD club too and now waiting for their email. Also just ordered a Mous clear case with delivery tomorrow, I wonder which one will arrive first? lol Next looking into screen protectors and upgrade my EE SIM only contract to the latest deal

Yes i did. Was really frustrating as it went from 13th to 18th just because it wouldnt accept my order. Will reply once mine moves on so you get an idea (im getting 128gb pacific blue)
Yup, same here. Very annoying. Although it hasn’t stopped me checking all day to see, by some miracle, if the status has changed. Keep me posted. Mines a 256GB PB.

Out of curiosity, all those who ordered from Currys expecting a day one delivery, what were you thinking? Currys is a terrible retailer and have a reputation for this sort of stuff. Surely ordering off them means you accept the risk of not getting it on day one?
