My local currys (not a small store) after lockdown 1 ended, decided that 5 people browsing plus 5 people waiting for the one customer service person working was enough in store, everyone else can queue down the road, round the corner, and into the next county.
Surprisingly, i've not gone back since then and wont again.

I got my dispatch email from Apple a couple of hours ago but when I try to access my orders to check the tracking and see who's delivering it I just get "Something went wrong" on the site or "orders are not available at this time" on the app.

Is that happening to everyone?

Do you guys know what time can we buy iphone pro max in John Lewis web site tomorrow? Is it midnight or 8 in the morning?

Happened to me but able to access now.

Yes, the system is swamped. Don’t worry.

I still feel positive. Currys have delivered for me before (I know they are far from perfect, but I will keep the hope!)...

Out of curiosity, all those who ordered from Currys expecting a day one delivery, what were you thinking? Currys is a terrible retailer and have a reputation for this sort of stuff. Surely ordering off them means you accept the risk of not getting it on day one?
I'm not really what the point of this comment is? I'm sure people have plenty of reasons for their choice of order and many may well have not pre-orderred for several years in a row and have the experience to know Currys are awful. I suspect they were also unable read through the thousands of messages that may have contained this experience in advance. Many, myself included, have ordered as a last ditch attempt at a launch day device having failed to get this from Apple.

The whole point of this thread is to come together as a community to enjoy the excitement (and sometimes disappointment) around a new device launch and this would include sharing our hopes and doubts about less reputable retailers. "What were you thinking" etc is an unnecessary approach to this endeavour, let us have our fun in peace!! 😜

I believe it is 0800 and from experience you need to be both quick and lucky. I've got delivery details and card pre setup and the phone I want marked as a favourite to try and help it along. God speed!

So Vodafone got my shipping address wrong. Repeatedly told me it had been changed throughout the week. DPD today said they got it wrong. So Vodafone changed it with them and my delivery got pushed to 16th. Vodafone have given me £75 in compensation. Managed to pay £5 for DPD premium and now the delivery is coming tomorrow before 12. And now Vodafone are giving me the £5 for DPD premium delivery. They may cock up but they will chuck money at you to sort it out

TL;DR is after initial nonsense. Guaranteed premium delivery from DPD for free plus £75 quid in compensation and my 12PM will be here before 12PM tomorrow.

There are quite noticeable companies in this lockdown struggle. Some fallen apart and some stay afloat. I am quite happy with Vodafone although it may be expensive compared to the rest.
I remember Vodafone and Apple tried to sort out for 3 hrs on my free Apple TV subscription. (It is me who messed up in the end with beta versions). Their commitment is unseen before.

Agreed. I’ve been impressed. Have my WiFi with them too and they do try everything to leave you a happy customer

Got a contract with O2 now... costs more than 3 but at least I can get an AW with them. Payments all gone out and got confirmation but no delivery date grrr and site wont let me log in.

What’s going on grrrrr

Man I was starting to feel left out there but just got my DPD Shipped email from EE. Really feel for everyone who ordered on Three. That truly sucks

What models have you got tracking for from O2? I have ordered a 256GB PB and no movement yet...

256GB PB same as you, I hope you get an update soon!

Must say I'm not terribly surprised to read about Three messing people around, they spectacularly cocked up my fella's Note 10+ contract when he moved to them from O2 and ended up having to pay him £200 compensation (after a good few months of wrangling).

Live chat - just asking if they had tracking details. They offered me £5 credit as an apology. I refused and now looking at new contracts elsewhere. No idea who’s decent in Nottingham/Peterborough way though.
Vodafone is good in Peterborough can confirm that, never had any issues with them. Overall their 4G coverage has improved massively the last 3-4 years. Also appear to be good with pre-orders so far as my Pro Max is coming tomorrow according to DPD!

Hmmm... Your message doesn't say that "Currys haven't had any iPhone 12 Pro Max's delivered". It says that an order that has been placed has been delayed due to stock not being available, and the order placed is on a back order. It also says that stock levels can be checked generally on the website...

I know this is disappointing, I know that you say you ordered early - and it does sound like there's potentially been a mess up in stock allocation, or availability, or you missed the allocation for the SKU you wanted. But that's very, very different to the claim that Currys haven't received ANY 12PM's... (Also, some SKUs have been available today for tomorrow's delivery.)

I've just checked with Currys web chat for my two orders. I asked for tracking info, and this was the response after going through ID checks and providing order numbers:

This seems consistent with others. I know Currys have a reputation for a reason, and I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Treble, it may be worth contacting Currys Web Chat rather than Team Know How, just to double-check?

I just received an email from Apple stating that my delivery will be tomorrow but when i click on the Track Shipment, i got an error... Wonder what happen??
