Other UK iPhone 12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max (2020) Orders and Dispatch Thread

Ordered at apple on Friday for a christmas present. Then got worried as Apple didn’t have a published christmas extended returns, so I ordered from Amazon as well as they did have extended returns.
Tried contacting Apple but app wasn’t updating order status. Contacted I think Sunday/Monday and by then they said it might not be able to be cancelled but they’d try.
Mid-week, noticed that the apple store app is now saying any orders received will qualify for extended returns. Damn...
This morning, apple store app still showing preparing to ship, and I got a DPD notification. So I cancelled the Amazon one which hadn’t charged me yet.
...then DPD updates to say the parcel is requested to be returned to consignor.. double damn.
Contacted apple support who will try and update that request to confirm it can be delivered, and if it gets returned they’ll try and re-ship. But by then if it isn’t possible, it’ll be early next week and if I have to reorder the deliveries may be slipping into December..

I've just had confirmation too from DPD that my package is on its the way to my local depot!
DPD are unbelievably reliable each year, 1st class delivery service.
The message relates to my order for the 12 pro max ordered at 2pm on Friday release day, curry’s didn’t launch at 1pm like other major retailers so I presumed I would be in the first batch around 20 mins after I received that message I received another
Apologies for the confusion. I have double checked your order and can see your order will be dispatched. As this is a pre order, our systems do not show stock levels until the day of the release. However, i have looked a bit further into your order number and can see one is allocated for yourself. You will receive an e-mail with the tracking details shortly. Kind regards
So yes it looks like I will get a release day delivery but until I get that dpd text I’m not holding my breath as curry’s do have a bad track record
And if that’s the case I will then hold my hands up and give praise where it’s due just not yet though

Considering others are being told different, and that this person was adamant they could see on their end, I have hope.
Got my email to say apple dispatched at 11.30am. Tracking link sends to me syncreon. Where it takes me to a page that says order not yet within the carrier network. It’s got a long trip up north to me so it better get shifting soon also my number ported halfway through my shift today and I’ve not been able to refresh nearly as much as I’d like to😂

Download the DPD app, enter your mobile number (assuming it's the same number you entered when you ordered with Three), and if Three are telling the truth the DPD app should already be showing something by now.
In case anyone’s looking GiffGaff have Pro Max’s and Mini’s in stock for delivery tomorrow. Seem to be loads of Mini’s but the PM’s come and go (so keep checking if you’re after one). I ordered a 12 from them on the Thursday before the Friday release and it came, as they said it would, by DPD the next day.

I have been reading along to see if my 12 mini tracking statuses were normal. I've been given DPD, and I know how keen everyone is to get their phone on time so this may help a few of you... I was just on the phone to them and the lady told me Apple are very strict with who signs for a parcel. Tracking says photo ID is required but she said they would only deliver if it was MY ID, or a family member with the same surname. So if you're at work and a receptionist is going to sign for it, I suggest going to reception when tracking says it's close if possible, or at least leave your ID with them. I'm a student and I'm gonna have to go to my delivery office just before.

This forum is not going to be filled with the average pre-order customer. It's generally full with people who are the most excited bunch and like you said, want to share that excitement with other people in the same position. The forum acts as a way to appease the wait - generally once people get their phones, you won't hear from them for another year. I was purely interested in knowing why people decided to pre-order from Currys instead of Apple, but you answered my question - you weren't able to get one from Apple on launch day. I genuinely hope everyone here gets theirs on the date they were promised it!

I genuinely have my fingers crossed that you receive it tomorrow, and as I say, I know why Currys have the reputation they do, and I know they've messed up in the past (I've suffered delivery issues from them before, too)...
However, this time, at the moment, there doesn't seem to be a confirmation of an issue and it does feel more like jitters based on past experiences than an issue (but as I say, I could be wrong, and like you if I am come tomorrow, I will hold my hands up and apologise for defending them, too).
The stock levels thing makes sense to me though, and that's why I tried to dig a bit deeper... Was trying to understand if there was an issue and more info/evidence existed, or if it was jitters based on past experiences.
As I say --- I genuinely hope that you (and the rest of us!) get our phones tomorrow, and have my fingers crossed that we do, but I also feel confident at the moment that we will... One sleep (and probably lots of refreshing and suchlike) to go...
