...weird that some seemingly eligible people are not getting approved in the app?! I cancelled my pre-approval last night (had a trade in attached to this) and then inputted a second application (without a trade in) and was approved yet again.

....present!!
:apple:;)

Yep! Me and my wife both got declined with perfect credit scores so I stuck it through under my dads name and it was approved so no idea how that works as he is retired and we both work full time jobs!

I remember when it was an in-person order where you had to start queuing in the shopping centre from 2am to be guaranteed with a chance at the spec you wanted at 9:00am.

...but that was before you could allocate yourself a reservation slot in the app. Nowadays, you can just turn up at your allocation time - no need to queue with the masses. I guess with the current C-19 situation though, its anybody's guess whether or not there will be a queue!!!

They are fairly similar but the Pro also has a better camera system (1 extra camera), more RAM, double the storage and stainless steel sides.

Depends on how bothered you are about all these really.

Looking at the comparison stats here: https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/compare/?device1=iphone12pro&device2=iphone12&device3=iphoneXS ,

...seems like the only difference between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is literally the LiDAR scanner - even the screen size and physical sizes are exactly the same.

Didn't realize just how similar they are - was looking at the cost for the 12 Pro but don't think its justified when compared to the 12.

6GB RAM in the PRO models. 4GB in Standard and Mini. Plus telephoto lens on PRO. So there are some differences just not a lot.

anyone switched from a max size to the 6.1 inch before? I have a XS Max at the moment and seriously considering the 12 or 12 pro (non max) this time round. I mostly love the max screen size for usability but I have small hands and it can be a bit unwieldy one handed. Plus it always feels a bit too big and heavy in pockets. Considering trying the smaller size but do wonder if part of the reason I want to is because I being impatient waiting for the larger size!
I have a Pixel 5 and the size is good, the 12 is slightly bigger I think.

To be honest if I had the standard 11 Pro I'd be holding fire I am only considering the upgrade as the heft of the Pro Max has become a factor for me, screen is great but it is a real unit and the 12 Pro Max is slightly bigger.

I am mostly android these days anyway, if I could find an equally immaculate 11 Pro I'd probably happily swap my max for it and revisit the 12 in the new year.

So, how does this annual upgrade work? For example, I get the iPhone 12 Pro on EE this year, then in 12 months time I pay (up to) £300, give them my 12 Pro back, and they hand me a new iPhone next year? No other fees?

Also, is an EE handset locked? I will be using my EE eSim with it, but may have to put a Vodafone physical sim in for a business line. Will this be possible?

No need to pay up to £300 unless you want to keep your 12 Pro next, if you dont, you just open up a new contract (matching or more than your existing contract price) and you get the new iphone 13 if you'd like. No extra fees

Personally prefer this method rather than using the Apple IUP and a separate Sim only deal, but each to their own!

Also, i use my sisters NHS discount for 20% off my line on EE

As Furzul said, the EE iPhone will be locked new from the box. It needs to be unlocked to run 2 different networks via dual SIM, otherwise you're limited to running a personal line and a work line on EE only.

You'll need to wait at least 6 months before you can request an unlock and will need to pay an £8.99 fee. Help documents say it'll automatically unlock after 18 months at no cost.

Oh well, won’t be going with ee direct then.

Now how to figure out how to transfer over my eSim?

Loads of talk about 5G sim only plans...

Does anyone know if you automatically get 5G if your on EE's Max plans? i've been told so but getting confused now.

I should bloody well hope so considering my contract is work £89 PM

I'm really struggling to choose between Pacific Blue and Graphite. I'm worried the blue (particularly the sides) is going to be too light for my tastes. In the press shots it's darker than I expect it will be in brighter light, just as the iPhone 11 Space Gray is almost silverish in a lot of lights.

Also not sure about the blue edge when looking at the screen face on. It seems a bit too... bright... I think I'd have preferred a darker, more navy blue.

Look.. you’re on macrumors.. reading a thread about pre ordering a new phone... I know it, you know it, we all know it.... accept why you’re here, join us on Friday.

You’re not an average consumer, you’re a connoisseur of fine things, you like having the latest technology, you’re ahead of the game, then envy of your friends.. you don’t need the newest iPhone.. you DESERVE the newest iPhone

@Jinjin you have put foward a strong argument for treating myself to that 6.7 inch beauty in Pacific Blue.

I'm just kidding myself thinking I won't be sitting there on pre order day not wanting to order :)

Does anybody know if there's any press shots of the bottom of the 12 pro silicone case? Not sure if its open or fully covered this year - Really liking the look of the black on the plum.. However if the bottom is open I might go with white to show the chrome/silver edges

....Ill also probably be returning the case either way within the 14 days as its the leather case im wanting

I got declined last year because the email address I used in the store was different to my Barclaycard one. What a joke. They told me to try again but it was too late. Joined the UP using partners name instead. He was getting his too.

I was declined yesterday, having used my new email that I changed a week or so ago. Your reply prompted me to re-apply today with my old email (still valid, that I had previously used for the iUP) and was approved fine, strange!

There's also 30fps Dolby Vision on the Pro as well as Apple ProRaw. Individually these are rather minor changes, but it adds up to make it worth it if into photos and videos.

Upgrading from the X to the 12. Been pre-approved via Apple. Looking forward to it! First time i've brought the phone direct through Apple. Always gone via O2. Sticking with O2 on a sim only deal which i'll be upgrading once i've completed the order of the iPhone.
