Anybody know how easy it is to make a lump sum payment to Barclays?

Do we just use the login details provided in the loan emails to log in to the account and make a payment (I will have £260 to put towards my iPhone 12 so would like to make a payment in order to shorten the initial 24 month term - I know the monthly payments remain the same) ?

You just call and go through the automated bits and ask for settlement figure then it asks you if you want to pay in lump sum, enter your card details and you're done.

Also, is an EE handset locked? I will be using my EE eSim with it, but may have to put a Vodafone physical sim in for a business line. Will this be possible?

As Furzul said, the EE iPhone will be locked new from the box. It needs to be unlocked to run 2 different networks via dual SIM, otherwise you're limited to running a personal line and a work line on EE only.

You'll need to wait at least 6 months before you can request an unlock and will need to pay an £8.99 fee. Help documents say it'll automatically unlock after 18 months at no cost.

When do we think EE will release tariffs? Trying to decide if I should go that way with student discount or direct from apple with just a student discount on the sim only option.

I'm here, as I am every year! really should post more but I love seeing the regulars and this is my most favourite thread of the year! Kind of painful waiting until the 6th to order a pro max but I know you lot will keep me entertained and excited in the meantime!
I literally only come here for iPhone launches 🤣

The question is whether it will be overkill with 5G. Doesn’t 5G EAT data? I don’t know how you can resist an extra 80GB for just £2, or have I misunderstood your post?

I have never used over 20GB, If I did I would not even hesitate. 5G won't eat more data, it will just increase the speed. I don't watch films or anything. The most data I will use is in my car using wireless CarPlay with Spotify, Apple Music or Maps.

5G doesn't eat data, it just gives data to you quicker. If you are downloading a film, it's the same film over 4G but you got it quicker. Unless your usage changes, you shouldn't use more data, but your experience should be better because it's more responsive.

Everyone change my mind because currently I'm still really enjoying my 11 Pro Max and not feeling the need to upgrade.

Before the announcement I was so sure I would be ready to pre order but I'm really not feeling it now :)

Maybe when the pre order date is closer I may change my mind though.

The good morning america video didn't help, we barely saw the 12 pro/pro max in blue but from what I did see, I want it!

...agreed - she spent most of the time waving it out of camera shot!!

The Magsafe didn't look too sturdy, she prized it on and off the phone VERY easily - I thought the magnets would have been stronger than than.......

While at first I assume I want really strong magnets, I am curious what it'll be like in real world situations, will I have to keep the phone well away from paperclips on my desk? will it be secure enough to suspend itself on the fridge door while I cook...? 🤔

If it can stay on the fridge I'd put netflix on and sit my nephew down and let him watch it so I can cook I would not mind that at all

Can you pre order the Max tomorrow even though it’s not due out until next month? It’s not very clear.

Nope pre order for Max is November 6th, the wait is gonna kill me..kinda.

Has anyone switched from Vodafone/other network to EE?

I'm considering moving from Voda to EE purely based on 5G speed and coverage.

I switched about 3 years ago from Vodafone to EE - it was for the Apple watch at the time. Never had an issue with EE and whenever I have called their customer service they have been excellent.

I'm in the south of england (go 1 mile further and you are in the channel!) and get great service . No 5G available here yet so will take my time upgrading my plan as I am on an old one that includes US roaming for no extra cost (I normally go 2-3 times a year for about 4-6 weeks in total as my daughter lives there). I can get that with a new plan, but it is one of the 'smart benefits' and I would use BT sport for that. May be worth a call I think to them as I have 3 lines and my backup broadband is with them too.

I spoke to EE via live chat this morning, they advised tarriffs would be released at 1pm tommorow when pre-orders go live.

If i apply for the Barclays finance can i set the delivery address to my work address?
No I don’t think you can I was saying this earlier. Every time I’ve financed through Barclays not on iup it has to be sent to the billing address.

My spigen case just arrived which I’ll use until Xtremeskins release their skins.
