For anyone on EE, I know that you can definitely get 20GB of 5G for 14 p/m if you pester them. 100GB for 16 p/m but 100GB is overkill for me.

The question is whether it will be overkill with 5G. Doesn’t 5G EAT data? I don’t know how you can resist an extra 80GB for just £2, or have I misunderstood your post?

It's really annoying that O2 force you to have the same delivery address as billing address.

Tbh I believe that Barclays loan iPhones so NOT the iup has to be delivered to the cards billing address. This is the experience I’ve had every time I’ve gone down this route.... I’ve never had the option to collect the order in store through loans. It’s a security thing.

Our nearest Apple store is 35 miles away and we were going shopping there anyway so on the way from the car the wife applied and got approved for the Barclays 0% loan for an iPhone 11 in he app and we picked it up in the store about an hour later. We did need ID though.

May be different with pre orders.

I'm worried that I will feel underwhelmed going from an iPhone X to a iPhone 12 Pro. For circa £600 difference, I'll be getting better cameras basically. I've never felt that the X's processor was slow, and 5G won't be widely available for a while.
I guess there's also the (slightly) bigger, brighter screen and bigger battery too.
I can feel buyer's remorse creeping in before I've even ordered...

5G doesn't eat data, it just gives data to you quicker. If you are downloading a film, it's the same film over 4G but you got it quicker. Unless your usage changes, you shouldn't use more data, but your experience should be better because it's more responsive.

Don’t you think that she’ll change her mind the moment she sees your shiny new 12 Pro Max? 😂

Yeah, I'm gonna to have to keep the piggy bank topped up for that very reason!

Plus I also want the new iPad Air & S6 watch...Apple Techtober is a road to financial ruin!

I'm gonna jump on chat now and see what they say.

I updated my contract to 10gb for £10 p/m early (i did have 7gb) and I don't really need that tbh but I have run close a couple of time recently.

Dont really know why i'll need 5G but woudl be cool to have it I suppose

I started a contact with EE for an SE 2020 mid August this year, for 50GB data. Just checked on the live chat today and they confirmed my plan is 5G ready, so I do not have to upgrade! I shall be giving the SE to my sister and purchasing the 12 Pro Max on pre order day. Just cannot decide on the colour! Gold is a definite no for me, but the Blue is "different" which is the only reason why I am considering it. Normally I go for silver, and have done with my past 3 iPhones, but maybe Graphite or Blue this year! At least I have until November to decide!

Has anyone switched from Vodafone/other network to EE?

I'm considering moving from Voda to EE purely based on 5G speed and coverage.

It’s a LOT more than that! You won’t regret it. Remember, the iPhone X is 3 years old now, which, in technology terms, is long in the tooth. There’s a massive difference even if you ignore the fantastic cameras, speed and battery life to name just two.

I'm really uncertain whether or not i will be happy with a smaller phone the Max is pretty much the same dimensions as my 8+ but £300 is a lot of money for 0.6". If i were to get the new 12 and find it's too small how easy is it to return an apple product that you've used?

I normally use the EE Annual Upgrade program but my 11 Pro 256GB got mugged by a moped thief in London in July :(

£495 to upgrade if I dont have my handset!!!

I wonder if they will take my previous XR 256GB instead of the 11 Pro, has anyone tried this before?

Alternative is not to renew on EE and buy outright from Apple using the trade in (around £950 for a 256GB Pro Max) so I can finally be free of these 24month contracts!

So, how does this annual upgrade work? For example, I get the iPhone 12 Pro on EE this year, then in 12 months time I pay (up to) £300, give them my 12 Pro back, and they hand me a new iPhone next year? No other fees?

Also, is an EE handset locked? I will be using my EE eSim with it, but may have to put a Vodafone physical sim in for a business line. Will this be possible?

Apple returns are very straight forward indeed. It’s a no quibble option. You have 14 days to return it (either to an Apple Store or online).

...you've missed out one single vital difference - the shape is obviously not the same so it will straight away feel totally different (I'm going from iPhone XS to iPhone 12) !

;)

Thanks, that sounds good. I've lived with a iPhone 3G, iP4 & iP5 with no issues. You'd think i would have no issue with a 6.1" screen. Hopefully that'll mean i have £300 to go towards the new iPad Pro next year :)

Anybody know how easy it is to make a lump sum payment to Barclays?

Do we just use the login details provided in the loan emails to log in to the account and make a payment (I will have £260 to put towards my iPhone 12 so would like to make a payment in order to shorten the initial 24 month term - I know the monthly payments remain the same) ?

I've been here for a fair bit xD
I’m here too. I’ve been around since the 1st iPhone, 13 years ago, and actually started the iPhone 4 UK thread, which was a monster.

All credit to @Jinjin for the incredible effort that he puts in every year. Impressive stuff in these complicated days of IUP, finance, trade in, phone recyclers, reservations, eSims etc.

oh yes!!

I've been lurking about here since Sep 2016! 🖐
Massive kudos to @Jinjin for all your hard work each year ✌

Oh just to willy wave, I've got 2 x original 1st edition iPhones in original boxes upstairs in storage :apple: haha!
I’m always lurking round these parts at the most wonderful time of the year.

Cleared my Friday afternoon schedule to be sitting in my office with multiple browser tabs open, trying to score that Blue 12Pro.
I'm here as well
Here for the last 3 or 4 years.

sorry all I’m too old to remember you all 🤣

To have a EE e-sim and a Vodafone physical sim in the same phone you must have an unlocked iPhone. Not sure how soon you can get a locked phone unlocked, or even if they still lock them, I have only bought phone direct from Apple for a few years now.
