After doing this several times same result. The message at the end of trying each time is:-
You can’t register for this app. Sorry there is a problem you can’t register for the app on this device. Please call us for help. Error code RG06H.
So a few observations.
Needs to be updated for the new phone. No. I even installed the app on my works iPhone SE tried to register as new, same error (so not the phone being new and the app being outdated)
The error code isn’t recognised on the Barclaycard website.
I genuinely now believe it is my actual credit card at fault. The app doesn’t like the number for some reason. I did try to call them but after 27 minutes of listening to how important my call is, someone answered, it clicked 2 times then they cut me off. You can imagine how pi$$ed off I was by this point.
So I’ve made a decision, I can’t use the app, they cut me off when I tried to ring so they can shove their card where then sun doesn’t shine. I’m sure when I ring the cancellation number later I won’t be on hold for 27 minutes. I know they won’t care I’m a small fish in their massive sea of spending whales but that’s just typical customer service lately.
