Did iUP upgrade today in the Glasgow apple store. They waived the £70 up front free to apologise for the delay in release which was nice.
That makes me kinda feel slighted by them... no such treatment for those unable to upgrade due to lockdown, I was forced to pay in full for a new phone and my upgrade status is just gone now

Just searched google and it looks as if it will be released this winter at $150.00 each... for those with watch and air pods this will be top of the range. Lets hope more makes like Anker etc start producing Magsafe wireless chargers
Winter is soooooo vague.... 😒😂

Any joy? Likely to be delivered??

Very doubtfull!

I don't think I'll be using amazon again for phone purchases. Stick to Apple or John Lewis.

I feel the same. Bet it was for the Max too so there was no delay at all.

My 128gb arrived yesterday from Apple which I want to send back in favour of a 256gb from Amazon with 5 monthly payments which is meant for delivery Monday - not looking hopeful judging by others on the forum.

This morning I ordered 128Gb gold Max, for my wife, from Apple for collection and it’s already in my hand.

My wife wasn’t even meant to be getting one.

This is the one I’m after, but not in the UK yet....

I’ve had the lightning version of this for around 4 or 5 years and it’s solid still working as well as the day I bought it so I’m defiantly getting this when it‘s released.

Have you contacted them. What I don’t understand is why they were selling them yesterday for delivery Monday if they can’t fulfil the orders they have.

I tried via chat but the computer was saying it's coming today. I then Tried various options to chat with a human to no avail.

I'm using an iPhone pro 12 so not the end of the world.

There must be more than one person in here who managed to get delivery from Amazon surely.

Strange thing happened today with EE. I’ve been using a physical sim since I got my 12 mini yesterday, (on a 5G plan), and had my usual 4G signal with good speeds. My esim came in the post today, I done the sim swap and bang, 5G signal in the same spots I was only getting 4G.

What’s even more stranger, is I live in Ipswich where 5G hasn’t yet rolled out by EE, and according to them is unlikely to be next year either! Why would an esim pick up a 5G signal, where as a physical sim didn’t? As far as I’m aware they work in exactly the same way..

Two things spring to mind. First is that the mobile data settings are per sim and it’s possible it was set to 4G only on the sim and not on the eSIM or could be an old sim and you upgraded the plan to 5G after putting it in the new phone but hadn’t done a power cycle on the sim to start it.

Was it this thread a little earlier where someone just bought a phone on the upgrade programme in Glasgow and they waived the £70 up front fee? Were you going for the pro max, if so that’s really good because not really a delay on that one was there.
It was the Pro Max, yeah. Makes a little sense as the launch is a month and a half later than the iPhone 11 one so I’ve paid for an extra month of iUP.

I was going to go for an esim but when I change phones I normally switch to an old phone in between selling and waiting for the new one. So would have no sim to use on that.

Cheers. Lots of people were on a IUP and got a Max. Apple should let everyone do this. They gave you a good deal though so that’s good. I’m surprised they didn’t do something like that to be honest.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Apple said they’d do this for people currently in lockdown but would have to wait until the stores reopened.
Basically they’re just saying as you’ve paid the month extra on the phone you previously had on IUP they’d use towards the new one.

It’s amazing how Apple is able, time and time again, to make last year’s product look immediately obsolete and outdated.

The bezels on my 11 Pro Max look huge now!

This is more down to planned obsolescence than continuous innovation, but yes.
