Went to York to pick something up earlier and saw my first 5G network.
No speed test conducted but sent a few pics to my other half and they were instant. Normally I see the little blue progress bar on 4G, but not this time 😂😂

Anyone still waiting for an eSim or even a SIM in the post from EE?

I ordered an eSim last Tuesday or Wednesday and i still havent received anything (Today's post has been)

So i have an iPhone 12 Pro Max i cant use as a phone!

Just ordered a replacement eSim (EE) this afternoon so hoping it comes quick as need it to transfer personal line to the 12PM.

I got my first eSim about 3 weeks ago to trial out the dual sim in my 11 Pro and just before I made the excellent decision to trial an upgrade to the 12pm (which am definitely keeping and trading in my 11 Pro to Apple). It didn't take too long to arrive - 3 days maybe - but I wasn't in such a rush for it. I've got my work sim in the 12PM meantime and whilst keen to get personal line in the 12PM though I also quite like having the 2 phones.

I was having issues with sending texts/SMS though but I'll wait to transfer to new eSim before I seek assistance on that. iMessage was working fine and switched to WhatsApp for others in the meantime.

Haven't been billed for the 1st one and hoping I am not for the 2nd either!

I would really think for overnight its overkill, you can get a much cheaper charging unit for that as it has all night to charge, I see this as a way to do a quick charge during the day, but of course its mobile so nothing to stop you taking it with you, but with an Apple wallet only holding three cards and stuck on the back of the phone (if it hasn't already fallen off or stuck in your pocket) I am surprised they are not selling a leather MagSafe puck holder for £50 as well, you could then strap that to the front of the phone to make it look even more stupid and bulky, well your real wallet is in your pocket so no room there, wait a minute why do they not sell Apple rucksacks for £599 to shove it all in? now thats an idea 😄
And I wonder how many people on this thread would buy the ApplePack (tm😂) and then possibly become a great mugging target!

Ordered the iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue in the UK and currently stating Dec 8th delivery!

I have a feeling its going to be delayed

Pretty good round up of it, just to clarify I've tried it and it will work with the Apple 18w charger although you'll only get about 10w charging, apparently it'll even work with an old 5w charger (using a dongle) if you want to wait a week for it to charge, strange thing is the below review has tried it with every type of charger but it's only the Apple 20w charger that hit's the full 15w regardless of the chargers output, I'm pretty sure Apple's built in some form of circuitry handshake shenanigans between the Magsafe puck and the 20w plug.

Yes you are right, only the Apple 20w will give the full 15w charge the rest is max 10w, luckily I am having an Apple 20w charger being delivered tomorrow free inside my Apple Mini home kit, going to see if I can use a different charger for that and swap ;)

Some stores have click and collect available so worth a try. I bought my Max via click and collect at Covent Garden.

For those who missed out on the John Lewis HomePod Mini this morning, Currys are launch theirs tomorrow morning. Also pick in available for me on Wednesday at my local Apple Store in Watford. So I would check your local one (if you have one)

Why are they laughing? 😄

Had the same though, long shot but wondered if a couple of the 18w bricks I've got lying around would work with the HomePod Mini but just found out apparently it doesn't like these and the HomePod turns red at the top if you try it, seeming less and less like this is all about the environment for Apple and more about upselling 20w bricks 🤔🤔

Although TBF they are supplying them with the HomePod Mini's surprised they didn't try and sell them separately with them too!!

Less is more. I still believe in that concept

We gain less and they earn more. I am sucking it up properly since Apple is the only choice. What I am impressed with Apple is that they are trend setter. All other brand will follow the suit of using the word “environmental”.

This was entirely predictable. If Apple could nobble the MagSafe charger unless used with their magic 20w USBC charger, they’re sure as hell going to do it with the more expensive HomePod Mini.

Their environmental “concerns” are little more than virtue signalling. Why else would they resist changing from Lightning to USBC charging on the iPhone?

I wonder if will Apple to stop selling AirPods with the silicon inserts to save the environment as they have to supply small medium and large, instead you get them bare and then we can buy the inserts separately, that way we could spend even more and have even more vans driving them around 👍

I've got a feeling they've not switched from lightning to USB-C on iPhones at least because of the uproar it'd cause from those with accessories, I remember the change from the 30 pin plug and all the howling at the moon that caused, instead I think in the next couple of years they're going to ditch the lightning cable altogether and go full wireless and then take on the kick back that'll involve.

if they do that all they'll have to do is release a bluetooth dongle for wired headphones at around 50 bucks, god knows apple loves them some dongles😂

Well it is on its way 👍

I’m late to the party, but I finally placed an order for a White iPhone mini. I wanted to check the battery life performance before ordering but I can see that it’s more closer to the iPhone 12 than the SE 2020, which has given me confidence 😀

it’s due to be delivered tomorrow. Can’t wait to try the inhand experience with the smaller form factor!

Please do not let them see this please.

Having FINALLY got my phone despite a 4 day delay thanks to DPD misroutes. I’ve finally spent the day with my new 12PM PB and I’m in love with it. They are just so quick to deal with everything. A14 chip is outstanding
