Ah man I can't decide between the 12 and 12 Pro.

I have the 11 Pro but I hardly ever used it for the wide photos etc. This year there isn't a huge convincing difference for me. I don't play AR games and can't think when I will be needing LIDAR.

The issue is that, for me, the 12 Pro has the same bad colouring as the 11 Pro. It's not quite Blue and the marketing photos trick you.

The 12 is a great blue colour.

Is anyone else stuck between the 12 and 12 Pro?

Yeah, the blue on the 12 is really lovely. Went for the blue Apple Watch this time, and it looks great.

I do like the pacific blue, but not too sure about the shiny bezel. But I fancy the camera upgrade on the Pro. But its 2020, and I won’t be travelling for months and taking pictures because *gestures broadly at everything*

So, I’m no further forward.

Those who are saying about your email address issues with Barclays what is the issue there? Is it that it doesn’t match up with your Apple ID one?
No idea, tried both of my email addresses, one of which is my one used for Apple and both been declined, no idea why.

So I’m approved for the Barclays 0%.

What are the chances I’ll be able to select in store pick up? Really want it first thing rather than wait for delivery

Anyone know if NHS employees can get a discount on these? I signed up for the Health Service Discounts account with my NHS email address but it is still showing the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro at full price, with a slight discount on the 11 (£586.80 vs £599). Is it normal for the newest models not to be discounted?

Thanks

Looks like I’m joining the pre-order hype train for tomorrow
My wife has decided she wants the regular Pro not the Pro Max so I’ll be ordering for her tomorrow.
I won’t be at all jealous that she has a new iPhone before me…
Same boat. I actually have been given a work iPhone for the last 8 years, which i can use as a personal phone, which is nice of course but means I can’t upgrade entirely when I want to (current on an XS Max so no need to upgrade).

Not been here since the launch of the iPhone X... skipped the XS & 11 Pro phones as they didn’t offer anything apart from small incremental updates. Really thought this would be the year I would grab a new iPhone, but... is anybody else just underwhelmed?

I was hoping for 120hz, or TouchID on the home button (seeing as we’ll all be wearing masks for the foreseeable). Just something more than just the usual refinements of better CPU, GPU, cameras... it’s the same every year.

I like the design, and sure the bump in specs are bound to be noticeable. But at £800 to £1000... really? And 5G is a joke in the UK and will be for a while yet.

I considered jumping to a Note 20 or S20, but so into the apple ecosystem that it wouldn’t be a good move in the long run.

Am I missing something? Convince me guys!
i'm in the same boat i have an xs max so size wise very similar to the 12 pro max the refresh rate for me was the blow that killed it for me this upgrade cycle.

Apple knew they could get away with doing incremental upgrades this year as adding 5g they think is enough to draw people in and it will. I've upgraded every year since the iphone was released then last year the upgrades weren't enough and this year isn't either hmm maybe i'm getting old lol

engadget and others are saying this year its just incrrmental upgrades and next year will be refresh rate perhaps even going entirely wireless now they have magsafe with no power port that would make the design even slimmer but thats probably afew years down the line.

it probably does help that ive just got the fold 2 and i still go wow when i see the display i'm heavily invested in the apple ecosystem and that won't change but next year they better do some damn good upgrades just increasing the camera quality and different colours just doesn't cut it for me now.

edit

but i'll still be reading the comments and watching you guys getting frustrated when the site crashes while you try to order then ask for divine intervention from saint francis when the order is delayed lol

It wouldn't be the same without this thread each year !!

Yes, it's normal for new models not to be discounted for the first 3-6 months.

EE offered me today on live chat after pushing them for 2 hours.
£22 unlimited everything 24 month contract 5G one smart benefit included sim only plan

Another plan they offered aswell is £16 for
200gb data 5G ready.

Taken the unlimited deal for 22 pounds now need to wait till Nov 6th to preorder my iPhone 12 pro max in blue colour.

Let's hope we are not having a national lockdown on the 26th October heard rumors going around nothing is comfirmed.

Are you out of contract?

I'm thinking heading back to live chat tomorrow. (hardly use anything over 50gb these days due to working at home)
If I have the will power tomorrow and try and change my plan unlimited plan to 100gb for £12 5G plan so much hard work.

Damnit, I need to get off Vodafone. Look at those prices.

OK, I’m going SIM free, not upgrading.

Be interested to know if you guys are out of contact
They wouldn’t bunch before when I phoned up because I couldn’t get student discount to work on the
£20 100GB deal. Just said it’s discounted already so they can’t get it any cheaper.

Not out of contract until May 21 but can upgrade now

I went through my employers discount programme on Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised to see them discounted. Checked again today and showing as per your screenshot.

In the end I was pleased because it removed an added complication to the order process which would have reduced chances of securing a launch day delivery.

Same story they told me. I ended up going with it.
