that might sound utterly naive, but are there any stores (preferably apple stores) with iPhones you can directly purchase with no preorder?
if I pop into a Curry, Apple Store tomorrow morning, will there be any stock available?

Anyone ordered from Costco? Not had anything since the order confirmation email. On my account it still says processing. Worried it may not arrive tomorrow.

Same boat here, ordered early at 1:12pm. Spoke to them and they are going through allocations, however I have had stuff from costco with a text despatch past 10:00pm so fingers crossed.

Carphone warehouse are even worse than I thought possible.

I placed an order for an PM 256GB on pre order Friday; I got a mail confirming my order and delivery date of 22ndSeptember. I then got a mail 2 hours later stating an delivery date in November. They had already taken my money immediately.

I called customer service to cancel and spent 30 mins on hold to be transferred to Sales; that went to a prerecorded message saying they were too busy to take calls. I called customer service back, after 40 minutes I was promised I would be transferred directly to a sales team member and of course just got the same recorded message. I have called them multiple times a day, every single day for 5 days now and not gotten past the too busy to answer recorded message.
In the mean time I have mailed every day requesting a refund and not heard back, not even an auto generated acknowledgement mail. Nothing.

They have taken £1200 from me on false pretences and for a week I have not been able to communicate with them in any way. I’m pretty sure this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced; how are they still in business?
They don’t deserve the custom I had a similar experience a few years ago with an iPhone order paid for and subsequently cancelled, money taken from my acount and no sign of any refund over the phone. I did get the money eventually by going into a CPW kiosk in Curry’s and even that was extremely hard work. Good luck with it you’ll get the money eventually and to everyone else proceed very carefully before ordering with CPW

Awesome! May I ask if you had this situation before? I ask this because the info on the Apple page under “View pick-up policy” is very vague as they don’t specify any number of days, which is not useful at all.

Agree, it’s very vague. I checked my email from last year and it says 7 days (and I think someone else has confirmed below).

This is what I'm doing. I'm from Manchester and when I went into my local store about an hour ago, they said I would be fine going in tomorrow as long as it was early, before 9.

Oh really? great news. Here in London, most Apple stores open at 10, will try to get to the Brompton Road one then! Thanks for your reply, and good luck for tomorrow then!

My local store is opening at 8, might best to check the apple site for your store as they have different opening hours tomorrow.
 
managed to get my parcel number from Yodel via live chat. It says "with sender". Still not in their depot.

I’d raise a dispute with my credit card company or bank and ask them to charge the transaction back. It’ll cost CPW money.

As a 'non-upgrader' this year, I enjoyed this thread from about 12:59pm last Friday, purely for the drama. Maybe 5% FOMO and 95% enjoyment.

Following it now I am in the 95% FOMO category :)

of course the real fun starts tomorrow as everyone stalks/follows their delivery driver.
