IUP is in store to complete, but you can pre-order along with everyone else. the 0% 24m can be done in advance of preorder (usually the evening after the launch event) and that makes the checkout on pre-order day just a few clicks and easy to do.
edit:
its the same credit check/amounts if you go IUP or 24 months... with the 24 months you dont have to go to store and can have it delivered.
IUP is good if you want to upgrade every year and happy to just hand phone back to apple after 11 payments have been made. In reality, you would be a little worse off (if that is an issue) as you can typically sell the phone via a reseller like music magpie, UR or Meelie and get more than apple give. You can then pay off the Barclays loan directly and keep the difference.
also with IUP you have to take AppleCare, with paying 24m/0%.. the choice is yours on if you want AC
I usually just buy outright every year which is why the IUP sounds attractive to me. But I genuinely don’t think I can be bothered with the faff of setting it up if I have to go to the store since for me it’s quite a big issue actually getting to the store. It’s a shame but hey ho.I've been toying with the IUP instead of the 0% Barclays credit (and pay off after 1 year) approach I normally do.
I sell (eBay or The Magpie etc) my phone every year so I keep it in as good condition as possible, using a case. Which I hate. Id much rather go naked.
Thats where the IUP with AppleCare becomes attractive (keep your naked jokes to yourself please) - I dont have to worry as much about it being pristine to protect its value. Apple will accept reasonable wear and tear, or fix anything bad with Apple care.
The thing holding me back is that I dont completely understand the logistics. If Im right, I can apply and set up the IUP about a day after the launch (next Monday), and be pre-approved.
Then I go to the Apple website for the on sale day (guessing Friday 13th) and order, where my payment options will include the IUP.
Then on launch day (guessing Friday 20th) I tootle along to my friendly neighbourhood Apple Store, hand over my old phone (they can have the bloody fine woven monstrosity as well) and run away into the distance with my new phone.
Then next year, rinse and repeat.
Does that sound right to everyone ?
you still have a phone waiting in store but would have to purchase in a different mannerSo you don’t even know if you are approved? That’s not good as if you fail you have no phone and be waiting weeks to get one

IUP and 0% credit are both through Barclays I think - so fail 1, fail both I expect.you still have a phone waiting in store but would have to purchase in a different manner
tempted to leave EE if there is another company offering the anytime upgrade. it was a good feature!Looks to be that way yeah. T&Cs here https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/upgrade/upgrade-anytime

privately maybe... resellers like music magpie already only offering £538 for that model and that price will drop from MondayI’m will be ready to sell/ trade in my iPhone 15 Pro in mint condition 128GB when I get my hands on the new iPhone 16 Pro Max. Is it realistic to hope for £600+ at least?
there was a discussion on discord about this company.. consensus was it was unknown and had some 'firm' t&cs for sending...

though a few comments of prices being lowered due to regradingYeah trust pilot seems very good though
There was a post on here yesterday about them I think it was. A immaculate 15 series was sent in and it was downgraded then they tried bartering a price
What was the outcome of this? Interested as Uber link have just been mentioned in this thread...My experience so far… used comparison site to trade in iPhone 15 pro max 256GB… Uber Link was best offering £760.50 so sent my phone away they received it fine… my iPhone was Immaculate!!! Not a single mark anywhere! Battery health 96%… I received an email saying they have regraded my device to grade B!! Offering £620!!! I declined the offer and they came back to me offering £680 so have declined again and waiting for a reply
Stay away from uber link…there was a discussion on discord about this company.. consensus was it was unknown and had some 'firm' t&cs for sending...
I ended up accepting £700 for my iPhone only accepted because I go away on holiday at weekend and didn’t want the stress in case I didn’t get my phone back in time etcWhat was the outcome of this? Interested as Uber link have just been mentioned in this thread...
I would tell them to shove the £5 and leave the ******** review I could think ofI ended up accepting £700 for my iPhone only accepted because I go away on holiday at weekend and didn’t want the stress in case I didn’t get my phone back in time etc

I was suppose to get £760.50 they received then said it was grade B so offered £620 I rejected then offered £680 I rejected then offered £700 I did accept but they then emailed saying they are glad we could meet on a price and said they’ll give me £5 extra if I left a good trust pilot review
This is the email below….
I am glad we can find a price point that works for you and just before I push the device into the payment queue what I can do for you is increase your offer by £5 in return all I would require is for you to leave us a quick Trust Pilot review based on your experience with ourselves.
If you could include anything along the lines of:
Fast and Easy process from start to end.
If you would recommend to family and friends.
If you would choose to recycle again with us in the future.
Clear Communication and Updates along the process.
Easy to contact and friendly Customer Service.
That would be a huge help for a small business like us as your words matter in the eyes of others looking to recycle a device!
If this is something you would be interested the link will be: https://uk.trustpilot.com/evaluate/uberlink.co.uk. Once you have completed it if you could provide a screenshot and confirmation I can uplift the price to £705, I can have that full payment issued within 24 hours!

Yikes. I think I’d (politely - still want to get the payment) decline the £5 and then leave an accurate review once payment has cleared.I ended up accepting £700 for my iPhone only accepted because I go away on holiday at weekend and didn’t want the stress in case I didn’t get my phone back in time etc
