From my experience, I seem to get on quicker on safari via my MacBook. However, I will literally have my Mac, iPad and iPhone ready.

I have also force closed the app and don’t think it’s an issue.

I will have my Mac ready to refresh, iPad to force close and my iPhone which I’ll just leave to refresh on its own.

I have also gone for 0% finance as I always seem to get issues when paying via card or Apple Pay, and I have to ring my bank to authorise it and delays the order.
I'm planning the same strategy. Refresh safari, force close iPad, leave phone.

I'll be paying with gift cards (-5% discounted rate via employer) which I have already credited to my account in advance. A bit scary to see a balance of £1,399 on there, I must admit. Did the same 2 years ago and it went fine. Doesn't save a fortune but I'll take what I can get.

I can’t remember if it’s free delivery - I hope so or having the exact amount on the Apple balance might prove a headache!

It’s a decent saving. I’ve done the same. It pretty much funds a case.

There will be a link to change model / colour - of course this may slow you down a bit

Got my details saved. Would you guys recommend doing this through my iphone or work laptop? I selected apple pay so I’m wondering if I should just stick with the phone I used to save my details. Can I do the preorder through the site or do I need the apple store app?

It’s all a lottery honestly.

I'm going to be behind the times this cycle, my 'free' upgrade with EE begins on the 24th Sept, so I'll probably be on the wait list, at least I'll have my Series 10 AW to play with

For all those that have in previous years ordered for delivery, does anyone remember what the options are if you are not in? For example would they deliver on Saturday or could you pick it up from the post office? Or is it restricted by Apple to only signed delivery at home address?

I know I can always pick up from store but I am a bit apprehensive about that because of safety these days in London.

It depends on the carrier. Most allow you to reschedule the delivery. You can call them and arrange to collect from the carrier depot if they have that option.

Pretty sure its usually only to home address due to the value - they use UPS, TNT and another one from memory so maybe worth looking at those sites for 'wont be in' delivery options etc

I believe that the saved pre order is linked to your Apple Account so any device logged into the Apple Store App or if you're logged in on the website should bring up the saved pre order information. My usual yearly plan is have all my devices open and see which loads first and take it from there!

Anyone else recall from this thread last year Very.co.uk went live with their iPhone 15 / 15 Pro stock before the Apple website did? Wonder if they will do the same this year.

I remember walking home from the midnight Wii Launch Event in Oxford Street; carrying a huge branded bag with WII plastered all over it. I was ‘well prang’ as I would have said back then.

Apple doesn’t pay for Saturday delivery to the couriers and you can’t pick up at any other location. The only option is signed delivery at your address.

I've had DPD deliver my iPhones in the past. Last year being the exception as I collected from store. If I'm not in then they've usually left it in a safe place and left a calling card. I've never had a DPD delivery be sent to the collection point. With DPD they usually have in-flight options. If you have a DPD account then you can actually set the priority order of what you want them to to. Eg. Send to collection point, leave with neighbour etc

I can guarantee you it will tick 13:00 and it will stay on the same screen for at least 8 minutes longer, then you'll check on here and see others have managed to order. Then you'll see people say that the colour and storage size you want is pushed back and not available for launch day, and then in a fit of desperation you'll try a second browser - only to realise none of your information is saved and you cannot get beyond the payment screen as your bank has flagged up the payment as possible fraud.

Same every year... 😂
I see this is not your first rodeo!!

I am all ready for my o2 upgrade, let’s hope it is not a mess like some other launches this year…

Thanks all for the responses just weighing up options. Probably being a bit too paranoid, will probably opt for collection for after work!
