Same here — near perfect score, declined for a second year in a row. Two years ago, when my salary was nearly half, accepted in an instant.

Phoned and appealed, and included some additional income and still declined. Very strange 🤷
Hi there - please try to look past the myth around the 'credit score' in the UK - lenders will never see it; its number made up by the CRA's to make you feel better and as you've mentioned your near 'perfect score' got you declined - Barclays will never have seen that number I promise you.

In the US a credit score is a thing - in the UK that number is meaningless. I've seen evidence of people that have come out of bankruptcy with a 999 perfect score on Experian for example.

My first application was outside of core hours! The fact it was instant like literally 2 seconds I don’t know how it had time to send my application to Barclays and for it to register on their system, for a check on credit worthiness to be instantly a no in under 2 seconds!!
Mine was the same, near instantaneous decline and did wonder if anything had actually been sent to Barclays. But i'm not trying another credit application and don't really want to drop it on a credit car so will just sit out for a year, maybe wait for the rumoured 17 slim one next:)

This is true but the underlying factors making the score are real. I don't think you'll have 999 on Equifax and 120 on Clearscore, for instance. The number itself is bogus but it's generally a decent indication

Ditto — as a heads up, you can call and ask them to manually underwrite it (and they’ll consider other income when doing so), but no guarantee it’ll be approved (and probs too late for this year)

Been declined a couple of times, it’s certainly not my score and there have been no searches on Experian so who knows what their criteria is? Apple will still be getting my money anyway🤷

sorry been having too much fun at the Disco .rd not had much time to look here

you've not actually pre-ordered, just completed the finance authorisation (if you took out the 24 m 0%). you still need to actually pre-order from Friday 13th 1PM. Completing the finance application and being approved doesn't garuntee you a phone so you really need to complete the process when the store opens at 1pm.

1pm on 13th... been that time for many a year now in the uk
My apologies - I was aware I’d not completed pre-order fully. I’ll re-word. I’ll be placing my pre-order *today*. Does anybody know when the phone will be delivered, if my ore-order is successful?

It was probably the number of applications going into Barclays at any one time - appreciate its all computer driven but no way can they get an indication in 2 seconds - press submit and instant fail. There's no way. It's not like it even opens the Barclays website for you to fill in the form on their website.

We'll agree to disagree on the scores - poster above had 'near perfect score' and was declined tells me all I need to know but if you believe it relevant that's fine.

Anyway... back to the phones. The website has been taken down now so roll on 13:00 (or for some 13:20 when they can finally get on to it)

I had this last year. Instant decline. But went through fine this year. It was the first time I’d ever been declined for credit in my life (I’m in my 40’s and have always managed finances well. Never a single missed payment on anything, ever.)

Depends how quick you are, buddy ;)

20th if you get your order in at 13:01
Awesome. Thanks. Just wasn’t sure if that was the delivery date or the dispatch date. I’m going on holiday Friday night so was hoping it would be here before I left.

Good luck everyone! Hope it goes smoothly and not like last year! I’ve not used Apple Pay this year as it was a major issue for me last year. Using the physical card number 🤞

Very true people put to much into the credit score system it’s all a myth to try and get people subscribed to there service I am proof of this I have over twenty credit cards all with a minimum credit level of £5k some are over £20k and my wages would not cover the minimum payments if I maxed every card out but I got accepted again for three Barclays finance on Apple today explain that

Want to trade in my wife’s 14 Pro via Apple to save on the monthly cost.
Of course she’s just smashed the back glass 🤦‍♂️
Trying to weigh up if it’s worth paying to get it fixed to up the trade in value. Also worried that Apple would somehow notice that it’s not an official repair and not give the value

Question for you all.
Store is down, as we know. When it gets to 13:00 should I...

a) leave the app at the wait screen with the apple logo and it'll refresh itself?
b) close and reopen the app to get in?
c) quit the app from the app switcher and restart it?

Basically, does the app refresh itself?

p.s. I'll be trying app on iPhone, iPad as well as website.

I can guarantee you it will tick 13:00 and it will stay on the same screen for at least 8 minutes longer, then you'll check on here and see others have managed to order. Then you'll see people say that the colour and storage size you want is pushed back and not available for launch day, and then in a fit of desperation you'll try a second browser - only to realise none of your information is saved and you cannot get beyond the payment screen as your bank has flagged up the payment as possible fraud.

Same every year... 😂

The app should refresh itself. It normally does however I’m not sure how quick that is. I don’t know if it’s a push from a server or an auto refresh at a defined frequency.

If I was going to do manual refresh I would focus on the website. That said the app is known to go live ahead of the website.

Last year was a bit different as the app totally failed for me and it would not show my preorder at all. I had to use the website and use a different payment method.

If you can use both the app and website and get it in as fast as you can. Good luck 🤞

Decided I am deffo sitting this year out and keeping my 15PM for another year. I regret upgrading last year a day after I had set the handset up, and I know I'll regret it again this year if I do. Just not enough of a difference in it for me I'm afraid. I've seen some other gadgets I wanna buy instead ;)
Best of luck everyone with your pre-orders. I enjoyed this pre-order and waiting experience more then the actual handset itself! lol

Anyone remember what time EE usually publish their plans? I seem to remember it usually being in advance of pre-order time but maybe I’m wrong!

I have a 16 pro 256gb and a 16 pro max 256gb ready in pre order but can’t decide which one I want.

From my experience, I seem to get on quicker on safari via my MacBook. However, I will literally have my Mac, iPad and iPhone ready.

I have also force closed the app and don’t think it’s an issue.

I will have my Mac ready to refresh, iPad to force close and my iPhone which I’ll just leave to refresh on its own.

I have also gone for 0% finance as I always seem to get issues when paying via card or Apple Pay, and I have to ring my bank to authorise it and delays the order.
