Yea as others have said, now the excitement of pre-orders is done it moves on to praying to the courier gods that I get DPD not DHL.
That said, all my recent large Apple purchases have been DHL

I used to be DPD but that changed a few years ago and now it’s DHL. Both are equally reliable in my area.

Took ages to get through to purchase, I’ve had email email confirming but the app on my iPad says the order is on hold and nothing is showing in the app on my phone. Has anyone had this before? First pre-order so don’t know if this is normal. I have ordered a backup from John Lewis just in case but would rather go with my Apple order.

To be fair, DHL aren’t bad, but I’ve found their time slot estimates are less accurate than DPD, and they deliver later to my area than DPD do.

I can say this isn't true — I got through first on my iMac when I kept refreshing the browser. My iPhone and iPad had the apps open and the iPhone didn't get through until I'd already completed my order on the iMac. The iPad app didn't get through at all before I closed it after placing the order.

IUP so collecting in store on Friday. But it was so stressful getting an error constantly and seeing the time windows disappear after each failed attempt

Yeah I think it's random or some sort of queue. Based on my experience and the comments here there doesn't seem to be consistency in what method got through first

Absolutely fuming. My bank declined the payment because of suspicious activity. Which would be fine if this wasn’t the account I use to save up for my Apple stuff and it hadn’t only ever been used to purchase things at Apple.

got an error message with the discount code so had to call them… then realise I selected the wrong colour 😅 thankfully they rebuilt the order and i got a better deal overall. black 256 pro max on launch day 🥰

did you use an NHS/ Perks 20%?? is it still 20%?

Happened to me before. I spoke to the bank then Apple requested payment again and it went through. The good thing is you don’t lose your place as they don’t take payment until the iPhone is packed ready for dispatch. So you a few days to sort it.

I wonder whether it’s because most people put a case on anyway and it’s harder to colour match the gold to different coloured cases. Much easier with the other colours. Either that or they made more of that colour expecting the demand to be higher.

More likely they just manufactured more of the new colour

Anyone else use Very? I usually use it and have never had any issues getting on release day. This year they are saying to preorder for delivery on the 11th October, didn’t see any for delivery on launch day!
