Your unit will be fine. You will be given a window to settle the payment
My order was cancelled, had no email or nothing and when I contacted them the bloke said there was problem with payment so the order was cancelled, I said why wasn’t it put on hold and he said they don’t put orders on hold due to demand

so I upgraded my iPhone 15 pro on the EE anytime upgrade. I was meant to pay an upgrade fee of £100 but EE kindly moved my contract forward by 1 week wiping this charge out.

Strange thing was the advisor didn’t mention me sending my old iPhone back so after a call to EE last night they have advised I do not need to send my old iPhone back which is strange being it’s upgraded on anytime upgrade.

They also provided it in a text to confirm. Has anyone else had this? I’m sceptical about whether I can sell the device or not!
This happened to me last year when i upgraded to the 15 Pro Max. Hoping it happens again this year!!

Did they say they were going to charge you?
WHEn i did the upgrade they said i needed too send it back. But then there was a massive cock up at their end (surprise surprise) and I didn’t hear anything about it. I called up about three weeks after I had my new phone and they said if I hadn’t had anything yet then I didn’t need to send the phone back.

I’ve got it in text message and a call recording but can still do without the hassle. I might just hang on to it for now and see what happens when my next bill generated.
I’ve just checked the email i got to confirm my pre-order and it doesn’t say anything in there about sending my old phone back.

To anyone who buys via Barclays monthly payments and includes 2 year up front Apple Care:

I'm 1 year in to the 2 year payments plan and have just called Barclays to pay off the remaining year (selling my 15 Pro for a 16 Pro). When I placed the order last year, it included a 2 year up front costs for Apple Care. Am I right in thinking I can get a refund for the remaining year of the Apple Care? If so, do I have to contact Apple myself to do this, or does it happen automatically now I've paid off the Barclays finance?
As others have said, you have to call Barclays.

I take the monthly option as I know I will get rid after a year so why pay for 2 years.

Call Apple to cancel the AC+ plan and they will refund to Barclays. Barclays will then refund you.

Only Apple can cancel your plan.

I’ve just found out that owning a smart phone doesn’t make me smart 😁 .. thought I’d got lucky doing a pre-order with Argos for Pro Max to arrive on Friday. Turns out it’s for the Pro! *duh* - I’ll try the usual suspects on Friday (John Lewis and AO) or may end up waiting for my Apple 7th to 14th October order to arrive!

You might struggle with John Lewis, as all the Pre-Orders are sold out for the Pro Max, but good luck

Right I’ve ordered using Barclays finance

I normally do upgrade program, but keep the phone for the whole 20 months anyway as I like having a phone to sell off……. And normally skip one update and then buy the next one after, so I worked out the 18 won’t be out for two years and it’s normally the same time of year anyway…… I bought AppleCare + to be on the safe side.

I did manage to get a 50% off friends and family code too, so I’m going to use that on a sim only contract that will work with the AW2 I plan to trade in my current iPhone 14 Pro and AW7 against when my new iPhone arrives.

I presume you went case less or was late adding the case, hence the deep scratch?

I'm holding off ordering the 16 pro models.

It seems all the iPhone 15 models were prone to scratches, especially micro scratches and I'm hoping the new updated glass on the 16 pro's somewhat combats this though I have my doubts. I just don't prefer screen protectors (or even cases for that matter).
Yep I usually go caseless for at least some of the time. As I say this is the first phone I’ve scratched and will be the last that goes without a case.

You will need to phone Apple ( 0800 048 0408 ) I had to phone them to get this sorted, the online payment process didn’t work.

I spoken to my credit card company to inform them that this payment was genuine, then phoned Apple to process the payment again.
Cheers, did exactly that this morning. Payment all cleared and taken within a minute. So back on track for Friday pickup.

Just need to trade in my US iPhone 15 PM in store to get £570 refunded. Almost there.

Question for anyone who has set up a 15 from a 14 or earlier - can you use a USB-C to lightning cable to transfer data from the old to new phone? Apple’s website makes it sound like you need an adapter and a pure lightning cable, so is there a reason one of the USB-C to lightning cables I have lying around won’t work?

I have always just used iCloud backup to transfer and it’s been fine.

Is there a specific reason you want to use a cable?
