Pretty sure Apple have pretty strict restrictions with the couriers which don’t let them deliver to a neighbour or leave in a safe place. Has to be signed by someone at the delivery address IIRC
Yep, you're right about the safe place, however my tracking page allows to select to deliver to a neighbour - I can go through all the steps short of pressing Submit

Interesting to see if they’d actually fulfil that request. A few years ago it was either dpd or UK Mail which had an option on their site to pick a timed slot for delivery for £5. Lots of people did ‘upgrade’ and the courier failed to meet those promises

If I recall, one year UKMail said that, due to the extra workload on iPhone release days, they couldn't even guarantee the timed slot they told you.

That's strange. On my DPD tracking it gives me all of those options: leave with neighbour, collect from pickup shop and change the day to a Saturday. I'm using their site.
I’ve tried both the website and app. Can’t leave it with a neighbour or at the store, and the next available delivery day is Monday.

Btw, your delivery window is a bit absurd. 06:00-22:00? Is that the smallest time frame they can give you?

I feel sorry for the delivery guys it's going to be manic for them and probably even worse when the X comes out, well at least they get a break for a month or so lol

Suspect it's just a placeholder. I usually get my 1 hour time slot on the day of delivery.

Dpd give you the accurate time slot on the morning of delivery once loaded onto the van. Then to can watch how you are delivery 89 on the drivers run and watch him seemingly drive past your road 20 times before getting to you

And watch the number slowly go down and then seemingly stop for ages just before yours gets delivered.

It amazes me the amount of people that just sign up to web offers or take the first contract that comes along without actually speaking to sales/retentions.

I personally saved nearly £500 over the term of the contract by haggling with the sales advisor and playing with the upfront payment etc.

If you don't ask, you don't get!

Well my contract was up, and I just wanted a sim, the first guy just offered me what everybody could get ie new customers, but I made them aware that I wanted 30gb data, and then when I requested cancelations I was offered that, which more than meets my needs! I know plenty of people that would've taken the first offer.

Luckily the Carphone Warehouse ‘delays’ haven’t affected me! My iPhone 8 will arrive tomorrow morning via DPD, upgraded to 8:30-10:30am delivery. It’s currently in America though apparently!

I got it the second it came out and even though as I was an existing Vodafone customer they absolutely refused to budge on price.

For me it was the scrolling performance, it had dropped frames everywhere, the ui animation was no where near as fluid as it should be and even dropping down from QHD to FHD made no difference.

However some apps the performance was buttery smooth, worst ones google+ in fact anything google!
Oh
Wow
Hopefully I don't have that problem. I have a 14 day cooling period though so I will cancel if it gives problems.
I do think iPhones are more fluid but they are just too expensive!!!

With Vodafone can you buy out your contract and not have to pay for the tarif?

Same here, it was the first thing he said but I told him I had a dispatch email and he confirmed it will be here tomorrow.

I'm expecting delivery of my 8+ in gold tomorrow. Usually I'd be all kinds of excited about a new iPhone but on this occasion I'm feeling a bit "meh... whatevs..." about it. I hope I change my mind when I have it in my hands :) I think I'm more excited about the new aubergine case! LOL!

About 2 hours ago I ordered a grey 64gb 8+ from carphone warehouse and just got an e-mail confirming delivery tomorrow. Fingers crossed I'm not hit by whatever delay's people are mentioning!

You can buy out any contract if you have the funds

And I got problems with performance on my S8 and 3 months after I got it.

Ordered my 8 via EE, they deliver using DPD.

I had already updated DPD for my address to deliver to a collection store and all deliveries using DPD (regardless of sender) go there by default.

Seeing a few people saying DPD will be late to deliver on the day etc, it’s too late now but worth doing the store option. They use newsagents, post office and other local stores with late closing too.

“Ready for pickup” - I could be fairly early with a pic as I should be at the MK store for around 8.15 but I need to grab and go to get to work. Wording like “during the check-in window you chose to get your pickup started” worries me; Here I am, here’s my driving licence and my wallet reservation/code, please go get my phone...

Does anyone know if you can change the time slot with DPD on the day if it’s going to come when your not in?
