Well I haven’t got my 8am pick up phone.
Daughter missed her school bus so I had to ferry her to school then get to work. So intending to leave early from work and pick it upon my way home.
Based on azzin’s experience I’m getting the box opened whilst I’m there...

Well my 7 is promised to be going to a family member as their 5 is dying and so can't disappoint them. If the 7 wasn't going to a family member I'd of kept it.

a screen protector for the X might not bug me as much as the cut outs around the home button does on the current phones... that and a slim case might do the trick

there's a few people on here who will be recycling their phones.. maybe a deal can be reached with someone if you wanted an 7?

tying yourself to a new contract might not be a best thing but might be another option.

Well I've finally got my replacement phone.

They did offer me a free case, so I grabbed a Tech 21 for my Wife, who's picking up her 8+ this afternoon.

I would have asked for a leather sleeve for my iPad Pro

What do people recommend the best way to set up the new iPhone

Plug old one into comp back up then restore?
Or doing it all via the cloud if thats an option?

I always do a 'Restore from Back Up' (iCloud) when transferring from iPhone to iPhone - always works perfectly and transfers EVERYTHING (apps, photos, contacts the lot!!)

So, they’ve swapped my phone out and now apparently I’ve “failed” the application for the loan agreement on the iUP.

Despite having obviously passed this morning to get the device that I’ve had to return as faulty.

They’re on the phone to Barclays now...

I was also in the Apple Store Kingston when you posted this. Did you find the customer service and general running of pickups extremely bad and disappointing.

They messed my order up and took payment in store, I'd already paid online and I had to have it all refunded and put on a new card as the refund would take 3-5 days.

Mine's here. Currently restoring from iCloud backup. 13 min to go and I'm getting impatient. Must say, the gold is stunning and much more subtle than some photos suggest. Pics in a bit. Going to have a cup of tea to celebrate

Edited to add: I used the new iOS 11 feature to transfer settings from my old 6 to the new one.

...that's not a new feature - that's been there for years - I always use the 'Restore from iCloud Backup' option when setting up a new iPhone.

There is a new iOS 11 feature where you put the new phone next to the old phone and it asks to transfer your info across.

Restore from iCloud I something completely different and has been there for years.

Do you know if you can have the have it applied by the machine if you haven't bought the iphone from them ? so i'd buy the screen protector from them and they would do it ? The last time i had a screen protector i bought it from apple i'm hopeless at putting them on so asked the apple rep to do it and it was awful but that was many years ago now.

Mines here 256GB Space Grey Plus

Let me tell you 2 things...

1. Space Grey is stunning. Many of the pictures on here have been accurate to colour but you don't appreciate how sleek it is until you get it in your hands. The faces are pretty much near black with a VERY dark grey aluminium band.
2. Space Grey is an absolute MAGNET for fingerprints. I took mine out of the box, held it, flipped it around and it was already covered! Personally it doesn't bother me much but I know there's many on here who will be bothered.

.....my Space Grey 8 Plus is going into a case the second I take it out the box anyway!!

Maybe a deal could be reached. Thinking of an S8 as they are good value now but they have, and lack things the iPhone has, so unsure.

As for a contract, it's possible. I'll certainly look into them.

Ooh, my husband's old Nokia wireless charger works for my beautiful new iPhone! This is great, especially since he's also just bought himself a new Nokia 8, which doesn't use wireless charging. As an aside, his new phone arrived within a half an hour of mine. His is probably no where near as gorgeous, or good as mine, though

Good to know, I’ve got a Nokia charger at home. Been scouring ebay for another to leave at work but not seen one for the price I got mine for (£6 from scan a year ago)..

...the guru serving me only asked to see my driver's license as ID, but I also took a utility bill and 3 months worth of payslips just in case!!

Of course it isn't as gorgeous!! Never heard of a gorgeous Nokia > Actually just googled it and it looks nice but that it irrelevant as wont be running IOS!!

....oh sorry! I did my reservation last week via the app for IUP, but when I got there, the guru asked if I was gonna pay up front or use either IUP or IP. He then proceeded to explain the terms of each one and I chose from there. I'm quite glad I chose IUP and have the included Apple Care as well (think it only includes 2 free accidents with an excess of £25 but I will need to read the terms to clarify)


...actually I did have a sales guy instead of a guru so perhaps he was mistaken!!

Phew and thanks for that clarification! As I definitely want to reserve to pick up an X in store on IP. Roll on the 27 October.

My UKMail driver is making good progress with my watch. I am refreshing the tracking screen every few mintes and it moves on. Now at Stop 59 and I am 100. I am hoping he wants an early Friday finish and is not sparing the horses (whilst of course driving carefully and responsibly )

Yep, exactly what I did. All my notification settings, wallpaper, Do Not Disturb, etc, etc, all set up like my old phone. Needed to re-set Touch ID and some other stuff, though.

Oh wow! So I just woke up before after dozing off and crapped myself thinking I missed it. Noticed the delivery slot changed between 12:13-1:13 and received it on the dot at 12:13!

Yes, just a little bit. But the first rose gold phone was a little bit too pink for my tastes. This is just right.
