Here she is (something as beautiful as this could only be female, unless it's Adonis!) Like I said, the gold is subtle, not in the least bit blingy. Feels like my 6 in the hand, but I can see a diffrence in colours and clarity, even though I think the screen res etc is the same? The speed is a big improvement; Touch ID is lightning fast. Not sure I like the haptic home button compared to the old mechanical one, though.

I'm going to take the dog for a walk now and check out the camera.

Anyone else notice a VERY slight ‘halo’ around the Apple Logo? Assume it’s light refraction when held at just the right angle. Not an issue but once seen I can’t unsee!

...it was indeed £25.

...correct!

....oh sorry! I did my reservation last week via the app for IUP, but when I got there, the guru asked if I was gonna pay up front or use either IUP or IP. He then proceeded to explain the terms of each one and I chose from there. I'm quite glad I chose IUP and have the included Apple Care as well (think it only includes 2 free accidents with an excess of £25 but I will need to read the terms to clarify)

...actually I did have a sales guy instead of a guru so perhaps he was mistaken!!

...hmm, it was a Belkin one which they applied in store however, the one they applied to my 8 Plus is slightly different to the one you linked to:

Looks like the protector I has applied to my 7 plus last year. I've gone without one this year...

Im surprised at how obvious the weight difference is between the 6 Plus and 8 Plus.

The 8 Plus also feels much more solid probably due to the glass back.

So I preordered an 8+ last Friday morning and still don't have a shipping date :(

Yet they are listed in-stock at retailers all round the country.

Has anyone bought an iPhone 8 from a walk-in today (in London)?

I'm wondering whether I might be able to pick one up in-store after work...

Went for a 'hands on' of the iPhone 8 plus in a local John Lewis. After a long play I am not convinced that, other than screen size, it offers anything worthwhile over and above my 6. My 6 is now out of contract and on a £20 pm sim deal, so an extra £40 pm for the 8 plus seems like a big ask for, well, not a great deal.

I then had a play with the new Apple Watch - I have to say that this seems to offer more fun and innovation for the price...

Back from the Apple store with a 64GB space grey 8. Suprised that it feels significantly heavier in hand than the 6/7.

Joining the upgrade program was smooth and even traded in my old phone which was credited directly back onto my card.

One of the things I liked most about the 4s was the weight. Once it was changed I felt it was a little bit too light, at first I thought it was going to fly out my hand. So yeah, I like the weight, I'll be sure it's at the bottom of my bag now! LOL

Silly question but how do you do a hard reboot with 8/8 Plus? For the 7 it was a case of pressing the on/off button and volume down for a few seconds but that takes me to a screen with "slide to power off" and SOS on it, then starts making a siren noise!

Press and hold power button and volume down button for about 10 secs till you see Apple logo then let go

Power+vol down.

Mine just arrived :D Luckily I got out of work and home about 10 minutes before the driver was due. Currently restoring from backup.

Bit narked that we have the mess on the back though, when it seems the rest of the world doesn't.
