I've just been into the Newcastle Apple Store and they said they take payment when you collect the phone, not online!

My money has been taken. They must be confusing online ordering for in store pick up and reserving one for the iUP.

Anyone from Vodafone have an update if their orders are being progressed?

whats your vodafone tracking info saying? if i look on the desktop browser im on step 1- complete, we've received your order, if i look on the mobile site its step 2- your order has been accepted, we've placed your order, delivery is still showing for 3rd november

Mine is saying exactly the same as yours except delivery date is 25 November. I pre-ordered on the 27th October, the early bird offer and was promised that I will get my phone on the 3rd and AirPods with them as I pre-ordered early. I have been reading on Vodafone forums, the dates are so inconsistent.. someone ordered today and got a delivery date of 10 November.

Quick question. I have an iUP reserved for the "before 19/11", however with the online reservations site available to us, would there be any issues in me trying my luck to reserve a phone in the morning and then doing my iUP on that phone and then cancelling my original iUP reserved phone?

Yeah I think you're right, to be honest I just received this email from a message I sent earlier in the day:

"Thank you for your email.

You will have a text message on the day of delivery with your hourly time slot and tracking number and this is when you will be able to track this parcel. We are not able to track this until it has been dispatched from us tomorrow night."

So guess it's a case of different people saying different things.

Just thought I'd drop them a quick msg.

As with Sunday, the operator seems quite sure.

I'm still quietly confident. I think like most networks/CPW etc. information isn't cascaded down and operators just make up information.

From what I can remember last year with the 7+, I was told categorically I would most likely not receive my phone on launch date. To compensate, I was given bill credits/refunds - so it was obvious the operators fully believed I would not be receiving the phone on launch date, but then it turned up on launch date anyway.

I've only checked in with Three once via Live Chat and was told all good for Friday. Just looking at Twitter and other than specific incidents (advisors making errors), no complaints about change of delivery dates.

I pre-ordered via telephone so don't have a confirmation e-mail and can't track through the website. But, iirc, I was also told at the time of ordering that it would be delivered between November 3rd - 10th, but when I Live Chatted with someone on Sunday, I was told all was good for Friday.

What did you order I ordered 64gb space grey. I have heard a few times that maybe space grey are all delayed to carriers.

My status page was updated today at 16:19 and an invoice was added but not view able until the device ships, maybe they will ship the iPhone X to UK customers this evening.

People asking questions via chat services - be it a carrier or Apple: there is no point.

These people are literally sat in their own homes on a laptop, working part time for Apple/EE/Three/whoever. They usually haven't got any special information other than what you can see in your own account.

The only thing that can come out of an interaction with them is disappointment.

Whenever I buy a third party case that doesn't have the full cutout at the bottom I regret it as they never seem to work properly with a lot of cables and docks, and I end up buying the official case anyway.

I have ordered this one to replace one which I cannot get to (unoccupied building next door) looks really nice but offers minimal protection.

So no issues with cables etc.

ive noticed with the vodafone forum it seems like people that ordered silver are getting earlier dates than space grey, i haven't seen anyone with a delivery tracking number yet so im not holding my breath i have a feeling it could be a long wait!!

I agree, as stated earlier, information is not always cascaded down so they make the information up.

Case in point, with the 7+ last year, I was bombarding them with messages etc. As it got closer to release date, I was told it wasn't going to happen and managed to get a lot of money back from Three - I don't think the operators would have agreed to, or had the permissions to do so, unless they honestly believed what they were stating.

And that all turned out to be incorrect as I got the handset on release date - not that I'm complaining, I managed to get upfront costs waived, and a large rolling discount on my plan.

EE update

Ordered over the phone midday Friday... space grey, 256gb.

Order number 0000440.

I ordered the Silver myself. Hoping I get it this Friday. Otherwise going to bug Vodafone for discounts. Only reason I went with them is because I get a Vodafone discount through my employer bringing the cost of the phone lower than RRP. Otherwise, I always buy outright from Apple.

Mine is still showing "Order in Progress" :(
Mine also still says that, don't worry. I'm just hoping it comes earlier as I know Apple always underpromise and overdeliver. They did with me last year with the 7 Plus, it said 6 to 8 weeks but came within 2 weeks. :D

Anyone with o2 who has a delivery reference, can you track it on DPD?

I can’t, but I’m thinking that might be because mines to store, not a home address.
Might not go live until tomorrow. All O2 have sent is the number you will use to track, up to DPD to scan it into their system
