Other UK iPhone (2017) X(Ten)/8/8+ Pre-Orders and Dispatch Thread

Thanks mate, I got here a few minutes ago. There a fairy small queue outside Churchill Square, probably about 20-30 deep. I’ll keep you guys informed of the progress, exciting!
Ha, great fun isn’t it and makes a nice change from me shouting sweaty belly button at the wife when I want to wind her up

Just a heads up, John Lewis stock goes live at 8AM and you should be able to collect from store next day. My X is due for delivery today from Apple but JL came through for me last year.

I thought you might be skipping the X having just got the Essential!
Are you trying them both and choosing or hoarding both... along with the Sony and KeyOne(?) ?

I have 2 iPhone X’s ordered for delivery on 13-20/11 and one for instore pickup on 9/12 to upgrade on the IUP.
Last year I returned my delivered phones for a refund and rebought them back on the IUP.
I was hoping to do that this year but the Apple store in Birmingham has advised me that I’m unlikely to be able to do this with the iPhone X because the demand is so high.
Apparently when they refund me the phone’s serial number will go into a central allocation pool which is based in cork for all delivered items.
Normally they would then click back on my serial number and transfer the stock across to Birmingham so they could reallocate it back to me to buy it through the IUP.
Apparently they would be unlikely to be able to do this because within a few seconds it is likely that another store would allocate it to their store instead.
This would mean they would be unable to sell it back to me through the IUP and they would have to retain the phone to forward on to the other depot.
So, my question is does anyone know if it is possible to transfer orders that are due to be delivered into an order to be picked up instore instead as this may be a way round this situation for me.
I’ll also be checking the stock online each morning at 6am to collect at local stores as well.

Do you have the Essential still? (As other poster mentioned it) I’m trying to decide what my next Android device will be and I’m kind of drawn to the Essential.
What’s your thoughts on it, good enough for a second device?

The Essential is great but it needs work. I also don't find that I enjoy pure stock android. I like the touches that other brands offer over Android. I know I'm not one of many with that train of thinking ha, just my opinion.
I loved the XZ Premium but sold that on as I knew I wanted the X. The KEYone went when I got the Sony, again another fantastic phone.
But it's time for me to try iOS again. Excited about this form factor.
6:04 and out for delivery. No mention of a time slot though so it could be anytime.

Camera needs work, but they are trying which is good. I'd say for a second device it ticks all the boxes. Especially at the price point you can get it for. It's exactly half that of an iPhone X 64gb even with import fees. You just cannot beat that value for a phone of this quality.

Cheers, yeah it looks like amazing value but I always like to get as much feedback as I can on any device I’m not sure of before I take the plunge.

Last time I used UK mail for Apple they didn’t txt me until midday for an hour slot at 3 o clock
07:11 out for delivery with UK Mail. No email or text to indicate when it might actually arrive.
