Yes went in and gave them my name and the guy sought confirmation that I was wanting iUP at which point I said I’d actually like to pay in full. He said “that’s not a problem, you can pay any way you like” and referred me to his colleague.
While the phone was fetched this colleague scanned my collection code and then asked why I didn’t want iUP. He seemed very surprised I didn’t even want to try and get approval but reiterated it paying in full was fine. Then he started his AppleCare sales pitch comparing the price of it with the price of an out of warranty screen repair but conveniently not mentioning there’s an excess for accidental claims. He added AppleCare on to the total and said look it’s not that much when you’re paying £1000 anyway.. I told him no thanks. It was not really the experience I expected from Apple.
It took about 10 minutes but could have been five if I’d said no to AppleCare straight away.
