This morning stock is crap for silver 256gb nothing in Birmingham surrounding area at all except for 64gb SG! I guess today's and yesterday's stock were the remaining of what launch day left, tomorrow will be same!

I must be really lucky to reserve a 256gb SG yesterday!

Probably as I'm going hk worth trying to get my friend to get there as the price is 256gb for 970£
 
Yeah only for a few minutes and then it goes live for maybe 45s randomly when somebody cancels order or something.

I wish I had known that.

I was selecting my colour and size, proceeding to check out and then clicking pickup. It then brings up a map showing availability local to my postcode. This morning I saw nothing. Yesterday I did see one available in Reading.

My friend using the App did tell me there were a few showing as available but for upgrade only.

I was wondering how I could see that on the website so now I know I should be referring to that page instead.
 
Only been able to check stock twice over the last 24 hours, every other time it pops up with the message, ‘not taking reservations at this time’.

Been trying the app and the website.
 
Is it just me or does the ordering process seem particularly shambolic this year? Store not coming up at the same time for everyone for preorders, reservation links not working for some but working for others, preorders still unfulfilled but third party stores (JL, carriers) getting stock so people can order there and get units before people who ordered on the 27th, people with longer wait times in the preorder queue getting bumped up but no movement for those further up the queue. With all that and the slew of negative threads on here I’m honestly thinking of just forgetting about it and sticking with my 7 for another year...

Check your account on app and it will be showing there. I reserved one yesterday (and then cancelled as waiting for the 256gb one) and never got email

Mine showed up pretty much straight away on the reservation page. If the store isn’t that far away from you yeah I would turn up. Or can you contact them when they open to see if the reservation is showing?

Is it worth walking in to store today to check for an available iPhone X? I was trying to get it reserved but the webpage was not working for me, similar to few folks which commented on here as well

I’m not sure any store will have walk-in stock for a good few months, maybe even next year, I’d assume. Then again you have nothing to lose in trying I guess.
 
I tried reserving one yesterday at 6, didn't work. so I decided to walk into brent cross store at 9. upon arrival I noticed that they were about to open and there were around 20-25 ppl waiting to get in. I managed to speak to a rep straight away who informed me that the only way of getting the iPhone x is either by reservation or online order and wait for the delivery. they didn't have any in stock at the store. i asked her about the 13-20 deliveries being moved to earlier dates, when she said it is very unlikely. the earlier slots that open up when ppl cancel orders end up bring the reservation items or part of new orders.

Yep, not too optimistic though. iStockNow not showing any that went up across Europe this morning.
I have no trust in this facility. I turned iPhone 8 on in notifications to see if it was working, half an hour later I got a notification. If an X turns up, it'll be long gone by the time it informs you.

Ah ok thought you meant Apple! Nice one... is their stock coming in and out constantly? Worth checking throughout the day?
I got my order in with them Friday afternoon. I've been checking regularly over the weekend but they have constantly been out of stock. I think you may stand a better chance either late tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday onwards but I'm basing that off of nothing. Best of luck, hopefully you can snag one up!

So on the preorder morning I used my iUP to reserve a silver 256 which is slated “before 18 November”
Does this mean I need to cancel that reservation (lose my place in the queue) and risk seeing if there is anything more closer?

I would have thought they would have pushed forward any existing iUP reservations with available iUP stock. Why are they letting iUP to skip the queue over iUP customers that have already reserved??
