Right, I see this thread has died right down now so it’s time for me to say my goodbyes for another year!

@Cutiekitty92 @Jinjin @judethat and any other people who are on here every year. Shame that @Azzin was missing from the X fun this year being all sensible with an iPhone 8!!

Good health and hope to see you all again for another roller coaster next year!!

One of the few events of the year where perfectly rational human beings turn into nervous wrecks, acting like spoilt little kids. It’s great fun :D

See you next year! Besides it seems us with our phones ain't welcome anymore

Oke guys, iPhone 8 Plus or X ?

X All the way. It's great and feels like a proper new upgrade.

Please can we leave this thread for preorders, dispatched and received iPhone X only.

Anything regarding accessories and usage should've another thread so that people like us who haven't received our iPhone X will not miss out on any useful information from other members.

Should have been quicker off the mark then! :p

They will take the money straight away. And take up to 5 working days to refund it.

Had £2300 stuck with them after they screwed me on order for del on 3rd. No contact what so ever. Fortunately I contacted them on Tuesday to check what was going on and they told me it had been pushed to 17th.

Then proceeded to lie and blame apple for short changing them on stock. And worse still even claimed Apple should have told me my delivery date had changed.

I cancelled as I’d rather wait longer then buy from these jokers.

Thanks won’t bother then with them :/

If I’ve already preordered an iPhone x on the upgrade program for early December delivery, do I need to cancel it to be able to reserve one at 6am?

Just out of interest, what should a DPD reference number look like for tracking? The JL order status displays "Ref: %<postcode>#####################" seems a bit difference from the previous DPD tracking references I've used in the past (Note: I'm not expecting it to show up with anything yet, just curious if this is the same for anyone else?)
I had the same weird reference number, but then received an other email later on with the tracking number that works.

Carphone Warehouse are idiots, we already knew this though!!

So then ... slipped into the 13th to 20th Apple order bracket so decided to try CPW (hahahahaha). Ordered for delivery to store for November 3rd. Have been away until last night and heard nothing while away. Got an email this morning telling me they cancelled my order because I didn’t collect within 14 days! Even with my maths skills I know it’s not 14 days since Friday!
To be honest I’m relieved they cancelled it! They didn’t take any money so won’t get interest. My expectations were zero and they, as expected, have lived up to those expectations!
Roll on 13-20th crew!

My iPhone X is still in the “Processing” phase my delivery date is between the 13th-20th. Does anyone know if I can buy Apple Care+ after getting the phone? Or could a add it now without my delivery date altering?

You will not be able to add it once you have ordered the phone. Wait until the phone arrives then phone Apple and buy it then.

I couldn't access the store until 0809 via app or website across 3 different connections (wifi, 2 different cellular), iPhone/iPad/Mac, so your point is not valid. I was as quick and as prepared as the fastest kid on the block but was cursed by the mystery box of networks, servers and geographical location.

Other guy does make a valid point, this isn't the thread for accessories and usage talk when there's a 1000 topics discussing the slightest variation on the same theme.

Guys, many thanks for showing that there are lots of people in the same boat as me.
for two days now I was able to reserve the phone just to see a home screen page next without no confirmation.

I now installed the app and will try it tomorrow. Just one question. If I do get the reservation in the upgrade program, may I get to the store and just pay the full price?

Do we need these if on IUP with AppleCare+ does anyone think? I've always used (non glass type) protectors, BestSkinEver type. But bare screen is great at moment, I have a case but only for back. Just thinking worse case £25 if scratched?

They’re not going to replace your screen if scratched under Apple care+. Only if it’s broken

Some people would have quicker if Apple’s store app hadn’t decided to go under. So I shall leave you to your gloating.

Was thinking about the trade in on IUP next year though? Will general wear and tear scratches be ok, and if not then it'll be £25 for a replacement screen.

Isn't the X, and other iPhone's, supposed to be "scratch proof" with this corning gorilla glass it has as well? It'll be going in/out my jeans, nothing else in that pocket, but not sure.

Has anyone got experience of buying a phone outright but wanting to switch to the UIP. My phone is the last batch for delivery so have plenty of time to get a reservation. But want to know if my phone gets delivered if I can go to store and get the refund on the amount, and join the UIP?

Keep checking on my order and it’s stuck at 24.11-1.12
Same delivery slot as mine! Hoping to see some movement, but I dont think we will until the next batch has been delivered

Yeah they’ll take that. As long as it’s not smashed to pieces otherwise you’d have to get it repaired under Apple care terms first.

My 7+ screen has been generally well cared for but I can see quite a few little ‘micro scratches’. These bug the hell out of me. If I was purchasing under IUP I’d probably care less as I wouldn’t be having the hassle of selling privately next year.

(Saying that I probably still would sell myself and clear off the loan for IUP as it’s get more money for the phone than the remaining balance).

Anyone got any concrete proof that (I.e. they’ve done it) that could can take an online order that’s been payed in full and get switched over to IUP? (Refund and rebuy)

Just asked the same thing! Read lots of yes you can and no you can’t.

Worst case is you go in and refund it and then can’t get IUP for whatever reason and have to buy again.

Logically thinking of this I can see why they might not do this. When you return the phone it will be either sealed or used. If it’s sealed they would open it to check the contents. At this point it’s would the really sell ‘as new’ to someone else?

I pre-ordered a SG 64GB iPhone X from the Apple website on the morning of October 27 as soon as I could, but was told it will arrive between 13 - 20 November. I was a bit annoyed because the site wouldn't let me on before then and when it did, Apple Pay failed twice (despite me using it all the time).

So by the time my order got through I think I missed out on the release date handsets (though God knows how anyone managed it).

Hoping it doesn't get delayed but I haven't got much hope as the estimate seems a wide range.

I ordered two for launch day pick up via the app. I paid in full and got the notification this day there were ready for col

I can confirm this is possible. I ordered two SG 256’s for launch day pick up in store. I paid in full.

Upon arrival, I informed them that I wanted to upgrade one of my iUP’s (7plus) and out the other one on the normal payments plan.

They said no problem. However, they would do the iUP first, as if they refunded me at this point, the devices would go back into the stock pool. So, we did the iUP plans and then he simple cancelled the in stock collection on his terminal which then initiated the refund.

Printed me a receipt and I wasn’t out of there after 30 minutes. Also, my collection time was 5pm but I arrived at 1pm and it wasn’t a problem as all the walk stock had gone anyway.

Thanks for the reply. Im going to keep checking as I get up at 6 during the week for work. Im going to have to work out if buying the phone outright each year and trading it in is better value than the IUP. IUP you are guarenteed a value and a new phone, where-as buying it outright you gamble slightly that you could get more money from selling the phone elsewhere!

I just asked apple online, and the agent suggested it is up to the discretion of the store as to if they will refund me, and sell it back to me on UIP

I have questions about CPW delivery dates. On their iPhone X page it says "Delivery by November 10," will I be able to get it on the Nov 10 or they are just lying
