Americans get a much better deal on IUP when upgrading yearly because payments are spread over 24 months not 20 like in the UK. Which is why I have avoided it because it's quite a bad deal

No not a thing from Argos only email saying delivery between 8th- 24th. I bet they sold ****loads on Friday.

They didn’t have any stock on Friday for orders on the day. So they were misleading customers and taking their money so they could sit on it for 5-7 days.

Why is it the wrong thread? We’re all talking about iPhone X and I have been in here for the last month!

I don’t have any issues with people discussing anything iPhone X related. This thread has been going on for nearly 2 months and we’ve covered every subject under the moon but all related to the 8 and now X. I like to think of this place as a great source of information for us UK folk for anything related to our new toys.

Wireless chargers, cases, screen protectors, insurance, IUP and much more has been valuable for a lot.

It’s for existing IUP members I think. If you are? It’s the check eligibility page maybe

Nope, I’m not on that train. I’m just after buying it as I’m in the dredded 13-20 group (sg 256 / s 256).

So if not on the iup I can’t get that option? I’m confused with it all this time around. Last year seemed much more straight forward.

From the thread starter himself ;) :p

Not sure it’s that much a bad deal. It’s interest free and a different of 4 months.. About £6/month more over a shorter period

UK iPhone (2017) X(Ten)/8/8+ Pre-Orders and Dispatch Thread

We're are talking about preorders here. You can start a new thread for iPhone X accessories other than clogging this thread.

Rather than clogging this thread with page after page of “can I reserve for Iup then change payment method” people moaning about argos or carphone warehouse letting them down (shock horror) and generally the same questions asked day after day??

Get over yourselves

iPhone X 64g SG available in Aberdeen.

Correct. Non IUP people trying to reserve will only get the reserve link that opens at 6 as an option.

Someone who is on the iUP could kindly reserve one for you and enter your details for the collection. When you collect, you just request to pay by card.

I think it's more frustration. On Friday I was feeling exactly like "Omg shut up about screen procestors and cases" but now not so much :D

Oh I understand for sure! I want my phone too! I’m looking forward to it and passing the days looking at accessories & all that type of thing!

Can’t wait to get the phone, hopefully sooner rather than later!

I just spoke to JL CS and mines been collected from DPD a short time ago so should receive the email at some point this evening. How long a wait you got?

Only notification I got from JL was the order confirmation, the 2 year warranty email and then a notification the following day it was ready to collect.

Given your having yours delivered you should get one tonight and then the time slot tomorrow morning

My thoughts exactly! This thread has been helpful for so many people in so many different ways. It has definitely added something extra to this whole experience! So much easier just to come to this one thread, instead of reading though lots of others.

I've mostly been keeping an eye on the DPD app awaiting it to be listed under 'Active' as that appears to show orders have had delivered to both my home and my 2 work addresses in the past. It feels like Xmas eve for me!

If I’m understanding correctly the upgrade program works by after paying the £69 initial fee and then 11 months of £63.95 (£772.45). Then you start a new plan with 2018 iPhone, put down the £69 or whatever it is again and start paying the new monthly payments. Then you hand in your iPhone X 256gb basically gaining £376.55 for “sale/return” of phone (£1149-772.45), ignoring Apple care+.

Whereas in US you pay $56.16 for 12 months with no down payment. Coming out as $673.92. So you hand in for $475.08 effectively ($1149-$673.92). Which makes it £98.53 cheaper in the US for a years use.

I guess you can always do this thing where you upgrade and pay if off??? So you can resell it which would mean there is no difference in cost between US and UK. I think some people were discussing it above^ You would have to maybe get two iup plans??

I’m tempted by iup because it looks like it’s easier to get an iPhone on launch day or soon after and you get the equivalent of 1 year of Apple care instead of 2 if you buy it yourself which is much better if you upgrade yearly.
