If I’m understanding correctly the upgrade program works by after paying the £69 initial fee and then 11 months of £63.95 (£772.45). Then you start a new plan with 2018 iPhone, put down the £69 or whatever it is again and start paying the new monthly payments. Then you hand in your iPhone X 256gb basically gaining £376.55 for “sale/return” of phone (£1149-772.45), ignoring Apple care+.
Whereas in US you pay $56.16 for 12 months with no down payment. Coming out as $673.92. So you hand in for $475.08 effectively ($1149-$673.92). Which makes it £98.53 cheaper in the US for a years use.
I guess you can always do this thing where you upgrade and pay if off??? So you can resell it which would mean there is no difference in cost between US and UK. I think some people were discussing it above^ You would have to maybe get two iup plans??
I’m tempted by iup because it looks like it’s easier to get an iPhone on launch day or soon after and you get the equivalent of 1 year of Apple care instead of 2 if you buy it yourself which is much better if you upgrade yearly.
All gone I thinkCouple of London stores have 64gb sg and whites via the iUP eligibility app
Anyone who has cancelled Argos order how long has it taken for funds to be returned?
Oh yeah forgot about Americans and not including sales taxThe us sales tax would also need to be added depending on the state.
Yes I’m going to go for IUP. Given the missus my JL order and I’ll wait a few more days for the 13-20. Unless I can reserve one before.
It’s for the same reason. Upgrade seems easier and the ability to see stock that ‘regulars’ can’t is a plus.
You could book an iUP upgrade today on your iPhone X if you wanted. It would just warn you you're gunna have to pay an additional ~£700 in store.Oh yeah forgot about Americans and not including sales tax
Yeah I'm probably going to go to store like you and upgrade it. The one concern I have (as well as getting rejected because of some stupid mismatch on my credit check) is that when September 2018 rolls around we won't have fully paid it off, so will the IUP preorder be as simple as it was for people this year.
Does anyone have any experience of doing a preorder when their IUP isn't fully paid off, is it just as simple as if it was paid off?
Anyone have a recording of the process on preorder day? I found this:
But doesn't show how you actually preorder

So yeh - just as easy as if you have paid it off, you'll just make it up the difference in store![]()
That was US only. Here you'll just have to use the upgrade system come next release.Oh okay, do you know how it works with this head-start preorder thing they did?
So it seems like you agree to pay off the remaining and then at 08:01 on preorder day you just hit a submit button or something?

Oh annoying. How does that work on preorder day(sorry for all the questions haha)? That was US only. Here you'll just have to use the upgrade system come next release.
Someone who is on the iUP could kindly reserve one for you and enter your details for the collection. When you collect, you just request to pay by card.
Well I've been reading these forums for weeks and thought I'd share what has been happening here. I'm in the 13-20 November group because I had an awful pre-order day:
- First I was online before 8am on pre-order day and was armed with my iPad, iPhone and Mac.
- Couldn't get on the app or the website until nearly 0810 and by that point I was going mad
- Then I got onto the website on my Mac only for Apple Pay to screw up
- Tried Apple Pay a second time and noticed my saved preferred address didn't show and wouldn't let me add it
- Then decided to go to credit card only for my Apple ID password to flake out - my saved version in Safari somehow got corrupted.
It was stressful but I think I got lucky to get the date I did to be fair. But the fun didn't stop there:
- On Saturday I was in quick on John Lewis and had a nice 256GB SG in my basket only for the website to enter the twilight zone and take me around in circles, ultimately I never got to the checkout page for nearly 40 mins and none left.
- I also managed to grab one for pickup in an Apple store only for the apple website to route me back to the store instead of confirming delivery. By the time I repeated the process they were gone.
- I then got one from Argos and was delighted to have paid for it and got order confirmation only to get an email a few hours later saying - yeh, you know when the website said we would deliver Monday 6th, well that's not going to happen, so I just cancelled that.
So here's hoping the 13-20 date moves forward and hopefully ships this week!

If you wanted me to do that I wouldn’t mind.Did we just become best friends?? Haha.
Thanks for the info.
They didn’t have any stock on Friday for orders on the day. So they were misleading customers and taking their money so they could sit on it for 5-7 days.
Why is it the wrong thread? We’re all talking about iPhone X and I have been in here for the last month!
Did anyone who ordered through Argos on Friday morning get their delivery yesterday?
Yeah, I go through Stratford each day so that would be my preference but I could probably leave work to get to the other stores if need be!If you wanted me to do that I wouldn’t mind.
If need your name and email address and store preference and you’d get get the confirmation. Are you london based?

Strangely enough my friend got the same email after being told it would deliver Monday. He was told it would be between 8-24th. He just received a yodel tracking reference from Argos for delivery tomorrow.
