Right, got off the phone with one of my nearby stores and I've been made aware more supply (than normal) is available tomorrow there has been a delivery. Highly recommend all 13-20 lot get up tomorrow.

Does this apply to all Apple stores? Or is this an order for the store that you called?

Maybe the 13-20 delivery has also arrived in the country as well

And what is a “big” order to ur local store might not be the same as the large amount of people scrambling over a phone at 6am every morning! 13-20th is only next week. I am just going to wait now

Hey
Out of curiosity when did you order/when was you original delivery date?
Ordered last Friday and CPW did not send any email updates at all. In fact, I phoned nd they told me estimated delivery was 17th of November so I told them to cancel the order. Somehow it got dispatched and arrived today! Cancelled my apple order and CPW didn’t bother to cancel this order which arrived out of nowhere.

For me the issue isn’t waiting, it’s the fact that when they announce pre-orders they always say “on a first come first served basis”, while it seems that what they really mean is “first come first served until the launch day stock runs out, after that it’s a free for all”. There is no point having pre-orders if you are then going to fulfil orders placed weeks afterwards before you fulfil the pre-orders IMHO. In fact I’d go as far as to say that if you try and pre-order and don’t get launch day delivery you might as well cancel the pre-order and take your chances on one of the other routes because you’ll almost certainly get it faster.

Pre orders are online for which it is a first come first serve (if you manage to get it to the Apple store) but Apple do clearly have dozens of different channels which need stock too.

In some way I’d agree with you that you’re likely to get stock else where if you have a long window for delivery. Unfortunately wasn’t the case for me last year, same experience with the store coming on later for me than other and me getting 2-3 weeks then too. Tried every morning at 6am and couldn’t secure a JB for love nor money.

Doubt it as it would still be showing as shipped. My 7plus last year showed as shipped as soon as it left the factory in China ( yes I am one of the unlucky ones who didn’t get a phone on launch day 2 years in a row at no fault of my own)

Fingers crossed you're right. Hopefully not another morning of getting my hopes up at 5.59am to be shattered by 6.01am

No regrets in getting my iPhone 10 got really used to it already and it feels like a very well built phone, got a case and screen protector on and a film to cover the back from scratches.

May get a rear protector at some point and also added it to Barclays gadget insurance right away so at least I am now fully covered.
I got screen protector and case from Spigrn and dust and lint seems to be gathering at the edges annoyingly. Does it happen to you?

Honestly based on all the previous years, non launch day stock has come direct from China to the door via ups. If it has left China we’d have had a ups shipping confirmation and it would have gone into PFD a good day before.

It could be the first time secondary batches in online orders come from syncreon and then ship to us, but I’ve never seen this in the last 5 years

In that case then there’s little hope for delivery on the 13th...

Maybe, but if stores already have stock for tomorrow why wouldn’t our orders have started moving yet?

Most likely as they’re different fulfillments. I don’t think it’s a case they Apple are sending one big plane load for all uk stores, carriers, retailers and online.

Usually online orders from China come direct from ups

Entirely possible, just depends if they ship them from the UK this year.

Quite possible, not an iPhone but my iPad Air 2 was in batch 2 and was shipped from the UK

indeed, no figures were thrown about but we'll see!

If being sorted and coming from the UK to us, which is possible

Fingers crossed you're right. Hopefully not another morning of getting my hopes up at 5.59am to be shattered by 6.01am

Thanks, me too if not I'll blame bots but I'm hopeful my informant seemed knowledgable

I will be a little fed up if more stock goes to jl/cpw etc this week and the 13/20th people get nothing.

I would hope if a delivery arrived Wednesday then people who ordered direct from Apple would see their orders sooner than Monday

So I think the 13th-20th batch (myself included) will have to wait until Monday at the earliest. Think about it - if you have many pallets of iPhones, it's faster to send 1 or 2 pallets to your partners, than to open up a pallet and individually box them up to different addresses and then distribute to your delivery drivers.

My 2 cents anyway...

Which is why it’s about patience. Apple are always reliable with their dates and yes we’re a week or at worst 2 away. In the mean time keep trying at 6am!

Presumably us 13-20th people are going to have the same problems with Apple Pay being declined whenever Apple decides to take our payment - and then have to go through the process of changing payment details.

No, our orders will come directly from the EU distribution centre.

Which centre is that? Wasn’t aware there was one.

My last 3 phones (yes I’ve missed launch day stock for a while now) have all shipped from China, then to Korea ( then many more stops) on its UPS journey. But they’ve never come from a central hub.

My Watch 3 order made that same journey from China, via Korea etc etc as I missed the launch day stock.
