So when I get my preorder of 13-20th I can go in with it and they will refund me and set me up on the IUP with that same phone no problem?
Hopefully a better haul tomorrow to make up for it
Oh, really? You can buy for delivery and take in store and switch over to IUP. Looks like that will be what I do
Oh, really?
You’ve probably told me this before - does it technically get refunded first and then the stock they use for the iUP is the one they refunded? I think we had some discussion about whether you’d lose the phone for good if you happened to fail the credit check
Yup, I checked with Apple live chat too and they said that would be fine.
One bit of advice I read was to go through the paperwork first (in case you don’t get accepted) then refund and complete
So they can do the check before allocating you the phone? Given that, at that point, they'd have no stock in... I wonder if the POS device would let them?Someone had said to do it the other way around, start the paperwork and if your accepted, refund and use the handset for IUP
If you’ve already ordered from them then you should receive it on the date received on the confirmation email but I wouldn’t bother asking customer services as you’ll be told one thing one day and another by someone else. I was told mine would come on the 3rd then the 10th and the 17th but it turned up on the 3rd so they don’t have a clue when your order will come.Carphone Warehouse delivery estimates on their site have now slipped to the 17th. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing with regards to my order.
Or movement for the 13th... all we can do!FWIW this morning was going to be slim pickings. Assuming most stores are the same then anything available would be left over from the launch allocation that had either been cancelled or not picked up. The store I worked at previously never got deliveries Sunday’s/Monday’s.
Even if a big delivery came in today, it wouldn’t be for another few hours meaning it wouldn’t have made the 6am cut. Fingers crossed for tomorrow eh?
Does it matter if you have opened and used the phone or does it have to be unopened?
So one thing I’ve learned is not to trust anything sketchy from customer service...

Yesterday at Superdrug I had a coupon for £5 off and they wouldn't let me use it because the item I was buying was £4.99 and the cash register said it was 'over tender'.
