Ordered my SG iPhone X 256GB on the 27th October (around 8.30am) through EE on the annual upgrade. They messed up my order and I got a call around 11.30am the same day saying that they needed to reprocess it. I was worried that I was going to get pushed back in the queue due to their error, but I wasn't in a rush so went along with it.

Tracking for my order came through and kept giving a date of 10th Nov. A few days before release I checked again and it had changed to the 3rd. Ended up picking it up in-store on launch day! Staff were friendly, although not very knowledgeable as they made the initial error in my order, kept having to ask the manager and other colleagues how to do things. Took a lot longer than it probably should have in-store, but I was the first one apparently to order and collect in that particular store so I forgave their shortcomings.

Now the wait for my free pair of Beats X headphones to come through! Anyone else waiting for these?

My take on this is that there wouldn't be any new stock of iPhone X for reservations until probably next year.

Any new stock coming in now will be for the 13-20 preorders. If there were new stock coming now, we should've seen 13-20 despatch.

So, any new stock will definitely go to the 13-20 preorders, then after 24th-1st Dec and so on.

It's a waste of time for us trying to reserve at 6am specially for those that want 256gb.

I can't see Apple going nearly 2 months without having stock for people to buy either in store or online, especially coming up to Christmas

ITS A TRAPPPPPP!!!

I hate the App so much now! It was the ****** app that wouldn’t let me in until 08:15 on pre-order day!

It seems everyone had different difficulties/experiences. I got in on the app by about 8.04 though Apple Pay wouldn’t work and then the in store pick up time I selected became unavailable. Managed to get x for delivery paying outright with credit card. However I couldnt get into the website to reserve for IUP til around 8.15 and they had stopped taking reservations by then so app overall worked better for me.

Anyone been in the scenario where they paid for the phone by credit card, and then changed to the iUP in store when going to collect it, only to find that Apple haven’t refunded the money onto their credit card?

If so, was it easy to take care of? I’m seeing that now, I’m on the iUP, but still see the £1149 charge on my credit card.

I’m going in past the Apple shop today to buy a case anyway, but wondered if anyone else had been in this situation?

Cheers

Yes it happened to someone much earlier in this thread but it was all resolved okay

Is this through their website?

yup through the website ..

it was showing no stock before ... so i added to trolley and left it ..
just got into work to check and it said order now for delivery within 2 days ...
when to order and it let me pick tomorrow for delivery ..

Obviously i am taking this with a pinch of salt .. so lets see what happens tomorrow .. or later today if i get tracking or not

maybe someone cancelled an order or returned or something

Update from Argos, one of their Call Centre staff...please take with the big pinch of salt we now know to use with these guys!

So, according to the person I spoke to, those individuals who ordered an iPhone with Argos before or on the 3rd will be out tomorrow. Any ordered after that? The 24th. Order hasn't updated yet, but apparently emails should be sent out today.

Hopefully for me and everyone else that jumped on the Argos option launch day and didn't cancel this will be a bit of good news. But, but...it is Argos. If I get anything further I'll let you know.

apple will be be supplying all its channels with some stock, be it, retail stores, carriers and the wholesale supply to people like JL, Argos and the others..

They won't be prioritising one channel over another.. the carriers for example probably sell more apple handsets (through contracts and upgrades) then direct from apple I'd hazard a guess. These big contacts in reality are worth a lot more to apple than a direct customers who are annoyed at delays but know we'll all still hold on to our orders.

the 13-20 date is not just a UK slot, it seems like a lot of nordic countries have the same estimated window... what I think this all does mean is fulfilment of the orders across the 13-20 window and a lot of thinly spread stock across other channels for a while.

for reservations stock it will be a case of a number of quite days, a burst of stock then more quite days again.. there won't be a consistant flow for a while. This is where I think the rumours of the delays will start sowing their face.

I would love for this to be right although like you say it is Argos so I'll believe it when I see it!

I'm getting 2 days now with the app for 64gb! not sure wether to pull the trigger...

Just had a look on Argos. The app lets you add to trolley, but then won't let you fo through to check out due to no stock.

If they didnt take the money right away I'd go for it, couldn't be annoyed with the hassle of getting a refund and waiting 5 days

Would really hope to see some 13-20 Nov order movement today, especially based on some of these previous time frames being provided.

Burst of Stock? They have never be any stock since 3rd Nov. Where is the burst of stock coming from?

For 5 days now, the only stock available from apple are preorders and returns, nothing else apart from others suppliers like JL, CPW and Argos.

I hope there are a lot of stock coming which I desperately want, but I doubt it.

I think it is real this time - I don't think they would want to give false hope and promises again. I just called up Argos for the 20th time right now and they say that the only update they got was on the 3rd which was the 8th to 24th delivery. I told them to tell the manager to call me back to get a 100% confirmation.

Update:
Argos are getting stock for the iPhone on the 10th of November for some stores!
