So that was my first and last time ordering an iPhone from Argos. Yesterday, all their systems (website, in store terminals, Sales hotline etc) say in stock for delivery today. I had a Paper receipt, email receipt and text message all saying instock, delivery today. Their systems say order dispatched this morning and I even have a tracking number. My card has been charged £1150.
After a 2 hour chat with Customer Services this morning, finally got to the bottom of it all. They don’ t have any iPhone X’s. They’ve never had any iPhone X’s other than the pre-orders fulfilled 3rd Nov. None are due this week. They’ve been taking orders and charging cards knowing they can’t fulfil. Cheek. They can’t even cancel my order as its in a pre-order status. They need to escalate to their finance department to refund my money who will action in the next 7 days. Pffft.
First and last time I use Argos for anything like this. However they have given me a £25 gift card as a sorry which is nice I s’pose.
I'm going to wait until you can just walk into an Apple Store and just buy one - far less hassle.
