I need some help from anyone who's had their phone delivered by UK Mail...

My iPhone X was dispatched yesterday and I was told via Syncreon's and UK Mail's tracking that it would be delivered on Monday 13 November. However, when I checked the website this morning it said it was out for delivery today.

No one was in today so I got a card through the door giving me redelivery options. I went online to arrange redelivery for Monday 13 November, but it errors. I have tried ringing them to arrange delivery for Monday but it's all automated and gives Tuesday 14 November as the earliest delivery date.

Will they automatically try again on Monday? Do I definitely need to rearrange delivery manually before they'll come out to me again?

It'll be delivered on monday as 2nd attempt or if you can get to the depot by 8am on Monday before the driver leaves, you can pick it up

Do you think that's why it won't let me choose Monday 13/11/17 as the delivery day then, because they're going to automatically try again on that date?

It's just the card doesn't say anything about them automatically retrying - it makes it sound like the onus is all on me to rearrange delivery.

Hubby collected my silver can’t wait to get my hands on it
Will cancel my order as soon as I am happy it’s all ok

Hi. I am also getting those notifications, but what steps did you take to buy? Was it an outright purchase? Apple app? Or webpage?

I went quickly on the app, add to basket, chosen collection time and place, checkout, fingerprint, changed card and all done! Yes outright I don’t really care about yearly upgrade program lol. After all this week of trying finally I can’t believe it happened lol!

In case anyone's in the same boat as me, I've contacted Apple and they've told me UK Mail automatically try to redeliver on the next working day after the first failed attempt.

I think the site has got really confused because all day it was telling me it would be arriving on Monday even though they actually sent it for delivery today.

Ugh, normally I'd be okay to wait a day or two extra for a parcel but I want my iPhone X. :( Patience is a virtue!

Still finding it hard to believe how little / no stock appearing at the Southampton Apple Store all week. Do Apple stores get deliveries on a Sat night and/or Sunday??

I was getting a case in my local Apple store (which hasn’t had any stock pop up for new iup customers to reserve) and the guy I spoke to said they’ve been getting stock almost everyday, but they’re going to existing members of iup. He even showed me there was 5 in stock but all had been reserved, none of which were available to reserve when I looked this morning. So it’s likely your store will be getting stock, it’s just not available to you if you’re not already an iup member. If you are an iup member ignore everything I just said.

I'm not a member of IUP so you are probably right. Just hoping they get some stock for non or new IUP customers soon! Going to London on Tuesday with work so hoping my chances of reserving one are improved!

London has been popping up quite a lot so I reckon you’ll have luck there. Hope you get it soon!

Has anyone had any issues with Barclays? Went to pickup mine and the missus phones last night. I got approved once for iUP but for the second phone declined (paid outright instead) got a near perfect credit score. Phoned them today and they refused to comment on why.

Guy in store recons it’s because we did two in quick succession.

I did two one after the other with no problems.

Right. F**k it - If Manchester comes up in the morning, I’m grabbing two of any colour

Fed up of this weird obsession that I have where I must have one immediately haha <kill me> <please kill me>

Also, the longer I wait, the less my current phone is worth!
Funny - I think I've just about gone full circle and said "f**k it" the other way

I'm in a queue that's going nowhere with people getting phones before me despite having dates later than me. There are people reserving at 6am & throughout the day brand new to the process who are getting their phones before me. Apple are replenishing stock at all stores nationwide & worldwide with exception to those closest to me. They obviously don't want my £1200. I'm saying f**k it, I was on the fence about their marginally better phone anyway, I'll stick with my 7 Plus which I'm plenty happy with (that does everything the X does bar Face ID & wireless charging), save myself £1k+ and maybe in a few months when I'm sick of this I'll shop around and see what the rest of the market is saying.

You can't create an "upgrade programme" to entice in loyal customers and reward them for constantly paying full whack for a phone with annual upgrades to the latest & greatest if you're not going to uphold your part of the bargain. My 7+ only has about £300 left to pay on it now, I'd be trading it in for nothing save the privilege of paying full price in instalments for the X - which I'd have to make 11 payments on before I could upgrade again. I could pay my existing one off, sell it and buy the X and have more £ in my pocket, but I was happy to stay in the programme out of sheer brand loyalty. Now they've given me enough time to question this.

Why should I have to take the crappy end of the deal AND wait?

If the process was handled fairly I’d either have my phone in hand by now, or I’d be patiently waiting for my accurate date and watching others do the same, with new people joining the queue behind me.

I got mine yesterday, and TBH you're not missing much. I still use iPhone 7 Plus JB.

I can totally understand your frustration. What you’ve said is exactly why I wanted Phone Payments instead of the IUP, so I can come and go as I please on my terms.

I really don’t know why I’m getting so engrossed in this. Maybe if I stayed off here, that might help!

This place does nothing to help you’re right. Easy to get caught up in the hype. Don’t call us fan boys for nothing hey

If u ordered and got 13-20 and didn’t think twice about it and waited, I’d have been just as happy

Still heard nothing from Vodafone. Still within 14 days of the launch on the tracking. Could easily see that being increased to 21 days soon.

Mine came with iOS 11.0.1, I got mine 3 days ago only, so I think all of them are shipping with 11.0.1 at least, perhaps they will start shipping with 11.1 soon.

Same. Arrived Thursday, came with 11.0.1.

In other news, wow I love the iPhone X!
I knew I’d love the screen/lack of bezels, and Face ID was always going to be interesting, but I’m most surprised by how great the gestures are. Much much prefer it to the home button (reminds me of Zephyr on old old jail broken phones of yesteryear). Reachability and Control Centre needs some work but otherwise it’s sublime.

Well worth the interminable wait for everyone who is waiting.
