I have the same phone at the moment, had it in a case since day one so the jet black is perfect.... defeated the point of getting jet black though, I wanted to use the phone bare but was scared of ruining the back so never did
hoping to sell mine privately for £500
Ah yeah you'll get more selling privately, I just didn't want the hassle i.e. I'm lazy. ;)

I'm still debating how to sell my 6S+ 64GB, it's in great condition but I can't be bothered dealing with people. Music Magpie offered me £260, but it's taken so long for my X to arrive that the offer has now reduced :(

I did the same thing, I sold mine a little while back though for £620 with the pre-tense that I could keep it until my X arrived (which it did last week).

I loved the JB but wish I could have enjoyed it a bit more without the worry of ruining it.

Ordered mine from Apple this morning; 5th-12th December delivery. I figured it'll take that long waiting for UK shops to get the silver 256Gb model in, anyway...

Mine has just arrived, wow i have instantly noticed 2 things, the display is amazing and Face ID is so fast and easy to set up.

Congrats! How are you finding the tone of the screen? Warm / cool? Whites looking white as appose to yellow. That’s with True Tone and night shift off of course. Thanks

It was a store inside a Currys PC world in Newcastle.

Kingston Park or the one in town?

I’ve heard some CPW’s are more difficult than others (some won’t even process it instore from reports) so just looking to find out which ones are most cooperative.

It was the one down Northumberland street. I used the one in the metrocentre last year and they weren't bothered either.

surely these just get blacklisted? not that these guys will care, they'll sell them to some poor fool who won't find out until it's too late
I’d imagine they’re just the ones on display and locked to Apple, not from the storeroom. Basically paperweights.

I'm done with Argos now.
For the second time in a week, they've made an order available for next day delivery, taken my money, confirmed it with a receipt, confirmed the delivery the night before via customer services, and sent me a text to say its going to be dispatched by Yodel. For the second time this week i've pushed them for a tracking number on the morning of the delivery which has then led them to own up to not even having the stock to sell.
The first time I can accept was an error, but the second time is just selling under false pretence, so I have begun a formal complaint against Argos for using bait tactics to sell a product they don't have and repeatedly misleading customers through multiple Customer Service channels.
Over it.

That is just disgusting. :/

The screen looks amazing, i could instantly tell as soon as i turned on the phone and restored from backup. White's look white, blacks look really nice and the screen looks great, colour's pop off the screen, it's difficult to explain but i'm sure you will find out when your's arrives.

I hate going to Northumberland Street, I might just try the one on Team Valley as it’s got parking right outside.

That’s excellent! Really glad to hear that! Enjoy!

Stripped for parts. Either sold on to repair shops or online.

Similar to what happens with cars (VAG/BMW/etc) with desirable trim/wheels/etc, although in that case they go to peoples houses :( Seems they are moving on to mobile phones now as parts prices are becoming expensive. And unfortunately its not just restricted to shops, they are snatching them out of your hand on the street :(

These guys are just the idiots that get sent in with a shopping list. The guys putting the orders in strip them and sell them on to repair shops or online via ebay/etc. Or someones found a way to give them the ID of a dead phone.

Hi,

Apologies if the question has been answered earlier in the thread...

But I want an iPhone X on the Apple upgrade program and was told that I needed to reserve and pick up the phone instore, rather than order online.

I'm guessing this is so they can run a credit check and get a copy of my documentation.
The issue that I have whenever I try and reserve a phone it takes me about a minute, to log in again (why? I'm already logged in!), verify the login via two-factor authentication, choose the phone, colour, size, store and pick up time for me to be redirected to buy iPhone X page.

I know new stock coming in is limited, but it seems that I about a 0.00001% chance of actually reserving the phone via the MBP and website.

Does anyone know how to do this via the Apple Store app, which I'm guessing would use TouchID and shave 30 seconds off my time and increase the odds to 0.0001%?

Again, apologies if this common knowledge or the wrong place to post.

You can do this via the app but you still need to do two-factor authentication etc.
Go to the iPhone page on the app, and then click buy for the iPhone X and a banner for the upgrade programme should pop up. Tap this and click 'Join now' and you'll be taken to a page where you can reserve the iPhone X or 8.

Also, good luck! :)

Surprisingly Argos is now showing as out of stock for all models!! Looks like they are now being honest about their supplies.

Mine still for delivery today but nothing as of yet.

Did anyone ever get a delivery from Argos even those who ordered on the 3rd?

Not to get your hopes up, but I'm sure someone who ordered a few days after release actually got their delivery. It was a while back in the thread and I'm not sure they'll be watching this thread anymore.

I've woken up at 6am every day since the 4th and have had no luck in reserving a phone for iUP! By the time I get excited that the 256Gb is in stock, select it, select the store, sign in, authorise the sign in and click next..... the phone has already been reserved! So frustrating!

Why not just have a queue system where you put your name into the queue and when there's one available they just notify you to come in? Why do they want us to wake up at 6am?!? This whole process seems silly :p.

Anyway - anyone got any tips for getting this done? I use the Apple Store app which I'm assuming is the most efficient way to do it? Also - I've heard that people on the iUP program already can reserve phones for others, is that true? Would anyone be kind enough to reserve one for me? I would super appreciate it!

Glad to see that I'm not the only one, didn't know about using my phone to reserve one though.

I can now give it a try and fall back to sleep and get up a reasonable o'clock
