Quick update on my Argos order!!

Placed order Saturday, and was promised Monday. Had a text on Monday saying anytime between 14th and 24th November.

Just now had a text from Yodel saying my parcel will be with me today with tracking and a time range of 12:31 and 14:31

Can see im 47 stops away, so looks like mine is coming today from Argos.

Anyone got any updates from Argos?

It’s not just Belfast. None in Newcastle/Gateshead either.

Same in Norwich. Nothing has come in since day 1.

My dad's in Manchester today, so managed to reserve one at Trafford centre which he'll collect tonight.

Anyone know if I can buy the phone outright from Manchester, then take it to Norwich and return it to the Apple store there and ask for it to be changed over to iUP?

I ordered mine (256GB Silver) at 08:17 Argos 3/11/17 for the 4th. Got a text to say it’s coming today. Called up Argos complaining. They offered me £50 gift card I said to them are you having a laugh. After speaking to a manger they agreed to send the £50 as a cheque.

I’m going to be returning this phone as I managed to get mine from Apple last week.

They have to keep the "hype" going...

...Deep down we all know we are being played to a great extent. If you want it sooner you have to play the game unfortunately. Or the most sensible decision is don't be stupid and keep your existing phone and a grand on the hip (NB I've just reserved one so I am clearly stupid).

I suspect that despite the hype Apple may be running out of people who are able or willing to part with £999 - £1,149 for a mobile, and that's without the extra cost for insurance, a case, screen protection, a fast charger, a wireless charger etc.

This may account for the improving lead times more than any increase in production.

I too realise the folly of it all, especially given Apple's particularly expensive UK prices, but what the hell!

I ordered a 64GB SG from Argos around about the 5th November when they said they had stock, when I managed to pick one up in store I cancelled the Argos order and was refunded..

I have just had it delivered by Yodel though.. so no I have a Phone I haven't paid for. Has this happened to anyone else?

I only discovered that Carphone Warehouse offers a recycle programme for cash from an earlier post in this thread. Once my X arrives, I’ll drop into my local CP and do the deal.

Yes it was cash I got too but into my bank account which was more convenient. Am not actually an O2 customer - I use EE.

Definitely worth doing some 'shopping' around as the trade in price definitely varied.
