My god DPD are a nightmare after black Friday ordered a iPhone x 64gb space grey on the 15th Nov delivery was due on the 30th Nov parcel is now under investigation probably stolen or lost.
Apple watch series 3 ordered online John Lewis due for delivery 29th via DPD tracking saying your Parcel hold at your local depot guessing they have lost it.
That’s unlucky.

DPD has always been fantastic for me and most. They are the preferred carrier for most gadget shippers as their tracking and slots are almost always spot on.

But, always pay on a CC so you are covered if buying at full price direct.

Wow there’s sock right across the UK for normal reservation. When you select X on the Apple Store, it shows unavailable but proceed and it shows stock all 95% of stores for collection today.

Walked in and bought an iPX (silver, 64GB!) on the upgrade programme today. Easy peasy! The excitement of pre-orders is fun, but nothing really beats just walking into a shop. Total time spent including travelling was probably 50 minutes.

How are you liking the X?

I have the SG but also like the Silver.

Love it - it's just a really cool device. No stand out feature yet (though I'm liking Face ID far more than I thought I would, and the screen is gorgeous), but the whole thing feels very refined.

Coming from a Plus, it is quite a bit smaller, and I'd probably go for a larger X if they made it. As it is, I'm still extremely happy.

Ordered online on the 19th Nov, a Virgin Mobile 3yr contract iPhone X 256gb Silver, Estimated delivery 2nd December.

The problem with Virgin Mobile (UK) is that you can’t track your delivery and have to wait for the email from the carrier saying when it will be delivered, I’m hoping for that email tomorrow.

So I ended up canceling the phone with Virgin as they are hopeless, I ordered Sim Free from Carphone Warehouse for delivery Monday (4th Dec).

So today I tried to return my iPhone X as it was defective. Basically the glass on the back was loose and you feel it moving and making like a creaking noise. This was the first time I had it out of its case so not sure if it was like this when I bought it or not.

I was told as I was outside the 14 day return period and on iUP then there was nothing that could be done in regards to trying to return the phone in exchange for a new retail one. Barclays are very strict about that 14 days and only accept changes to serials numbers from the Genius Bar apparently. I would have to go through the Genius Bar which I was adamant I didn’t want to do for a phone little over 3 weeks old. I got speaking to the senior guy in charge of the Genius Bar and he assured me the replacement was brand new even though not in a retail box. As it was my only option he went out of his way to change it for me there and then with no appointment or anything. Great service and the new handset is perfect. Might be time to go without a case...

So, the first part about Barclays and only allowing genius replacements is rubbish.

However, the Genius is right in the fact that the replacement devices are actually new.

They will be for at least the next 6 weeks. If you compare the serial numbers it’ll be the same age as your replaced device. Apple pull a certain amount from the production lines for this exact reason.

I find that strange that he would tell me that and to be fair it does state in the Barclays T&Cs that 14 days is strict to cancel the loan agreement so I believe he had a point. I do not know how they would have gotten round it in store although in my head it would have to be refunded onto a gift card and then purchase a new one but how do they do they update my loan agreement with the correct serial number?

So after 6 weeks, are the devices not new? My initial device was Week 41 and this new one is Week 44. They only had 1 available at the Genius Bar in fairness

To be honest DPD have been amazing last two years over 200 parcel never late. Yet again my replacement iPhone X due for delivery today gone missing again timeslot given was 12.23 - 13.23 phoned up to DPD they cannot locate the phone. Crazy two iPhone. x goes missing in the last two weeks.

Hello all!

I ordered on the 24th of November with three uk. Told them I would pick it up in store. It’s taking so long....

Reconditioned stock will eventually filter through.

So it was a good time to get a replacement then. That’s good to know

Replacement stock is still new - my replacement device from yesterday is a week older than my launch device.
New or not it still has a different model number starting NN, and the serial no longer matches the box, which annoys me when selling because buyers think you’re trying to pull the wool over their eyes over something else.

For the latter issue keep the replacement paperwork to hand when selling. They usually email you or print you details of the replacement.

Although I have worried about this, no one has ever checked the serials match with the box.

Legally you have the right to a brand new replacement within the first 28 days if the original is faulty, outside of the 28 days then it’s up to the retailer whether to replace or repair it.

Apple seem to try and hide behind their 14 day returns (which is mainly for if you change your mind)...I had a similar situation with a faulty out of the box iPhone 4 that they tried to replace via the Genius Bar after just 2 days but soon changed their viewpoint when I asked them to look up a customers rights when faulty!

If you have taken out a loan to buy it then you are still responsible for settling it....it’s nonsense about not being able to exchange it due to the loan!

Agreed but I’m on iUP so it doesn’t matter and also, if selling, I’ll just sell to CPW or an online recycler so it really doesn’t matter.

Also agreed. I have a receipt that shows the original serial and the replacement serial number. Again, it really doesn’t matter.

Wish me luck my replacement number 3 coming 12th Dec hope dpd don't lose this phone too. Lol

Good luck. I think because it’s almost Christmas and they get temporary staff in to help some of them may steal packages.
Which is what happens where I work unfortunately.

The sticker on the bottom of the box peels off easily, I’ve just sold my 7 Plus and the guy was far happier with the Apple replacement paperwork than if the sticker was still under the box (he didn’t even look at the bottom of the box but did check the print out of the Genius Bar replacement receipt) and was far happier to be getting a phone with provenance that it was direct from Apple and not a network phone (he even commented that he thought it was a good thing).

Anyone have any luck with their Argos orders? Hoping to get Silver 64GB X before Christmas, but Argos website is saying delivers 30th December. Anyone have any idea if it may come earlier?

Dude. The Apple stores have stock daily and John Lewis have both colours in stock @ 64gb
