I will switch off my 4g to 3g order a Uber and use googlemap. thanks for tip lol

Haha no problem, everything on my phone is faster on 3G over 4G so hopefully it's the same for you!

Is there any merit in starting fresh with my next iPhone? I've been restoring from backups since one of the very first iPhones. Should I start fresh or does it really not matter keep doing this?

Not really, I just thought Three was good because I was getting a 'good' signal. I've been with them for years so thought my day to day experience was normal for a smartphone using mobile data. As soon as I moved to EE I really noticed how much faster everything worked - opening web pages, refreshing emails, uploading and downloading cloud data, facebook - you name it. I cycle and often go through long tunnels on a trail. I lost my Three signal as soon as I entered the tunnels, but with EE I usually don't lose the signal at all! I just hadn't realised how good it could be. A bit like wearing glasses for the first time when you thought your eyesight was OK. Placebo is an imagined improvement - this is real!
I noticed that too hardly any signal drop out with EE even travelling around wales.
Three is like a cheap supermarket to lure customers.

I always like to start afresh. Helps me purge all the apps I don’t need and reorganise the home screen. Can be a pain remembering all the apps you want but you’ll get there eventually.

Be careful of all which are storing data locally and not in the cloud. Last year I did this and my son had a melt down as I lost his Fifa mobile progress!

For me last year, they refunded my x to a gift card first and then straight away scanned the phone back in for an IUP purchase. I hadn’t opened it, or removed and seals etc. After that was done they then refunded the gift card back to my credit card.

The reason for the gift card was so if I couldn’t sign up to IUP, I could just use the gift card to buy it back. Rather than getting ‘two’ credit card charges whilst the refund was processed by my bank.

All really helpful in store and done in 15 mins
Thanks!

Called at lunch and they said I can return and get a refund before signing up for IP

Lol, I work in Manchester.
cannot even make a call with three.
I have to use three WIFI to talk to my customers that was way back in June. ( Before I switched over to EE)
How embarassing to tell your customer on the phone to hold need public WiFi to continue this call could you hold on a minute. Haha

Gotta say that it's definitely gonna be weird handing my iPhone 8 Plus, back to the Apple Store on Friday, in preparation for upgrading to the XS!!

I'm always used to walking out with a new phone, still in the box, until I get home so I can enjoy the unboxing experience in my own privacy!! I'm gonna feel like its my own phone - why do I need to give it back (I usually hand down my old phone to the family so that they get an upgrade to their phones but of course, this year will be the first year where I can't do that)?!!!! :p

I cannot wait.
Friday I preordered the iPhone XS 64gb gold Max edition on three ALL U CAN EAT £64 upfront cost £99
Phoned up this morning to cancel after all the bad press and comments on here.
Not taking any chances with three cheap price and customer service department.

Preordered the iPhone XS 64gb gold Max edition on EE instead for £83 30gb data unlimited minutes and text.
atleast I get better speeds on EE and coverage.

I'm on Three but finding their 4G speeds ABYSMAL in London. I actually have 4G turned off as for me, the 3G connection is quicker!

Do you think EE will bring back any 4GEE Max plans for Black Friday? I'm dying to switch to EE, but not sure if I should wait for Black Friday or just switch now...
What speeds did you get?
I live in croydon I think I made the right choice cancelling three today after all the terrible comments and ordered iPhone XS MAX On EE instead.

So I’m thinking of leaving the IUP that I joined last year with the 8 Plus 64Gb.
Just spoken to Barclays and Apple. After the 23rd Sept (which is when the next payment goes out and realistically I’m not going to get a new phone before then if ordered today). There’s £351.60 owing on the Barclays account. There’s also a £75 rebate on the unused AppleCare + that’s part of the IUP, which will be transferred to Barclays bringing the Barclays amount owing down to £276.60.
Envirofone are offering £350 for the handset giving a £73.40 profit.

I can then get a 256Gb Xs Max on O2 for a £70 upfront payment and then £70.25 a month over 24 months. Making it only £7.60 a month more than I’m currently paying.

Think I might just do that..

My outlaws are in Croydon and the Three signal has always been ok but if you go into London watch out! We were there for a Uni open day with daughter, walked out the station wanting google maps to guide us and got nothing! Had to reboot phone and then used the offline mode of City Mapper which I’d saved previously!!
If I lived in London I’d ditch Three at this point! Why have a £1000 phone that you can’t use???
When we were there I though it was just glitching, it’s only this past couple of days that I’m seeing there’s more to it!!

Might only be £7.60 a month more but your also locked in a 2 year contract. I rather go IPP and sim deal personally

Yep, much better option.

I paid off my X around 2 months ago, refunded the Apple care+ £115 (it only took Barclay's two days following Apple's request to transfer to my account) and sold my X 2 weeks ago for £750. Total £865 for the X.

I have ordered the XS Max 256 and will pay out right by topping up by £184 as I also had £200 sitting around in my TopCashBack account.

Thought I would try the Apple Business unit approach this year.

I have received the email detailing the dispatch dates this afternoon. :-(

XS max 512 Gold has delivery date 24th Sept to 1st Oct

Apple watch, delivery 15th to 22nd Oct.

I could have ordered both for delivery on Friday, I was in the store ,via the app, really early for a change. I’m away back at work on the 10th for 4 wks. So it’s pointless having the watch sit there was 3.5 wks using up the apple care. :-(.

Not too happy.... does anybody have exprience of using the Business Unit for launch days? If so, so they normally come fwd?

Now will to have to join the queue early Friday morning for the watch and hopefully pick up a phone at the same time....

Anybody coming to either Glasgow store Friday morning?

I’ve got this one on my X and had no issues

Anker iPhone X Screen Protector for Apple iPhone X / 10 (2017) with DoubleDefence Technology, [Case Friendly] [2 PACK] Tempered Glass with Alignment Frame for Apple iPhone 10 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074YXH9WX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_v06NBbJ1RFPHY

Going without one this year

What made you decide that? I never used to have screen protector's on, or rather, could never fit them properly myself but what Apple started fitting them in store I've had them.
