For those who have had the Leather and Silicone cases, how do they compare?

I am going to get the XS Max but not too sure on the case. Im rocking a leather case on my 7+ and just wondering on the quality in comparison to the silicone case

Also, is anyone getting AppleCase+? I was really hoping that Loss & Theft would be available, but I think I am going to cover it under my contents insurance instead

The Max is due to arrive between 24th to 1st. So patiently waiting

I have had an Apple leather case on my 8 Plus this past year and it doesn't really bulk it out by that much if I'm honest! The leather offers superb grip (its slippery at first but as it slowly gains the natural oils from your hands, it will naturally want to grip your fingers) and has aged beautifully - it will be a shame to start this process again with a new leather case for my XS!!!!!

I've never liked Apple silicone cases though as they are naturally, lint magnets. My one pet peeve with them is that they are just far too grippy, so much so that when the phone and case goes into a pocket, when you next pull the phone out, the case grips the inside of the pocket so this then turns the pocket inside out as you pull the phone out (and of course, the case is also covered in pocket lint!! YUCK!!!).

A year in with my dark olive silicon and it’s no way as grippy as it was when I got it..
Must be that pesky hand oil. Also little fuff too

My first silicon case as I usually have leather but I’m happy with it. Will see how the much lighter stone colour fares

It's only offering £591 when I enter my iPhone X 256GB?

I use Music Magpie every year for all my devices - never had a problem. Locked in at £691 for my phone, unfortunately put iPad Pro in the same basket so need to make decision whether to lose £80 on price of ipad or sell early.

Also...... and this may not be an issue for anyone else..... but one of my concerns with Max was that it wouldn’t fit in my BMW 5 Series wireless charging tray. I just tried with the case and can confirm it does fit - though literally with no space to spare. Apple better not make these phones any bigger in future!!!!!!!

If you use another recycler ( i did music magpie with code tech10 for 10% more). I have 14 days to send it in so plenty of time to get Xs and ship off the x

Out of interest, how is everyone pronouncing this? I know the X is supposed to be "Ten" but i'm definitely reading "Ex" and with the Xs im reading "Ex Ess"..

Roll on Friday! Silver 64 XS reserved, will be handing back the 8+ 64GB I got last year on IUP.

Been doing some sums..

Last September I paid £69 to Apple, first Barclays DD went out in October and 11th, which allows the upgrade, went out in August.
On Friday, when I take out the new IUP for the XS there will be an overlap with the 8+ loan because it will be too late to stop the 12th DD going out.

So, I will have paid: £69 plus 12 instalments of £43.95 = £596.40.
And I'll owe 8 instalments = £351.60.

Have I got this right?

I assume the official naming convention is pronounced "Ten" then "S" but I'm personally calling it just "Excess" as that is exactly what my XS (Max) will be!

You're a lifesaver. I think I will wait a few more days to confirm the recycling as doing it now would be a bit tight in terms of time for them to receive my current X if I am sending it after the 29th.

What is the process when you talk about getting the applecare refund? Do I simply contact Apple?

Biggest shocker for me is the fact that the iPhone XS Max has exactly the same screen size as the iPhone XS in that on the XS Max, you don't get any extra row of icons or extra info when in any app, when compared to the XS. The Max is displaying the same screen as the XS but in just a bigger format.

I'm pretty sure this was not the case with the 8 and 8 Plus as the Plus sized screens did actually display more info.....

This has cemented my decision that I made the right choice going from the 8 Plus to the XS.

Its Ex. Apple changed it from numbers to letters so they must accept that it is now an Ex and therefore the bigger phone is now the "Excess Max Extreme final remix edition R spec"

BTW, Cape Cod blue leather case is really nice.

Sounds about right. Clearly the longer after the 11th payment you have to wait to upgrade the less value you get from Apple for your device.

You could be better off doing what a few will be (me included) in paying off Barclays/IUP by selling the phone and also claiming any remaining AppleCare

...that stone colour will probably get quite dirty pretty easily but I guess with it being silicone, you could probably clean with a damp cloth.

yup, call apple up and do it.. think its the only way. They then issue the refund to Barclays who would take it off any remaining balance, and if there's none, then refund you.

Don’t think you got any more icons as previously..think it’s always been like that

That would be great thank you. It looks really good I wish it came in black as well but I would still get it in white. I know there are cheaper ones on Amazon which have been recommended too I like the design of this one and I know it is a good and trustworthy brand.

I received this today and I'm very impressed. The build quality is excellent. Very weighty and has a nice rubberised feel all over. I also received my Xs Max leather case and that fits in the charger nicely with some wiggle room so it should accommodate pretty much any phone.

I like it in white as it matches the iMac keyboard/trackpad so looks great on the desk. It would be nice to be able to adjust the angle if you are using it on a nightstand etc. but the angle is fine for a desk so not such a big deal.

I have been using the logitech wireless ipad pro charger for the last 18 months and I have been very happy with the quality so I'm sure this will also stand the test of time.

Well I am waiting to see if Very cause me issues with delivery I will take a wait and see approach. I've ordered a case and have also redone a deal for 12 months with EE. Bought a second hand stainless steel apple watch 3 to use with my contract as well at a good price.

The Plus phones displayed the same number of icons as the regular sized phone !
