Nice thanks. Only problem is I don’t have a second phone so I’d take the £100 hit just for the convenience really.

If you use another recycler ( i did music magpie with code tech10 for 10% more). I have 14 days to send it in so plenty of time to get Xs and ship off the x

I couldn’t justify the xs from an X. I was going to skip but saw a nice shiny new 7Plus and remembered that the size wasn’t too bad and the extra screen estate made it worth it. Now I’ve ordered a XS Max and very much doubt I’ll be sending it back!!
Yet again Apple have sucked me in with the expensive items!!

Haha indeed! Only real reason for the X to Xs for me is due to IUP. I’m paying the same amount so might as well have the Xs! ( until I see the max in store and pine for it)

Must. Resist.

Think I’m going to wait until Friday to see it in action

....same here although I will update my iPad Air 2.

Now I am tempted to update my X to see the improvement. If I see 12 on the Xs for the first time, I’ll probably not know if it’s the os or the new device that’s snappier (hopefully both!)

Ditto, I’m going to check out the max in store when I go to pick up my Xs on Friday. I always find myself convinced in store that I’ll be ok again with the plus size ( usually because I’m handling the phone case less and in reality I’ll have one on).

I’ll chance it and see if there’s any stock come Friday if tempted

....so you're upgrading from last year's iPhone X to the XS right? If that was me, I definitely would not do this upgrade as there just isn't enough in the XS to make it different to the original X. That's why I am pretty sure you'll end up with the XS Max come this Friday! :p;)

Even though my reservation is for a slate grey iPhone XS, do you think they will allow me to change to a silver or gold model on the day, if I decide to switch colour?

All my iPhones, all the way since the iPhone 5, have all been slate grey, just because i didn't like the other colours. The silver XS looks more white than silver as the glass back is more a white colour - its only the surrounding material (where the buttons are etc) that is silver/chrome.

I’m sure if they have stock. The Xs seems plentiful given the preorders for 256s only just moved from 21st delivery.

I have a silver x and it looks great. But if it’s in a case no one will know

Well I am like you & usually hold out until I receive the new iPhone before updating to the latest iOS.

However, this year I am selling my X to a friend this week so thought I'll be nice and update it for them in advance!
The added benefit it I could take iOS 12 for an early test drive!

The X is fast already but iOS 12 just makes everything noticeably super rapid with the performance.

I have a sneaky suspicion with the new A12 Bionic chip in XS/XS Max and iOS 12 together, we're going to enjoy the best Apple user experience.

Personally, I really want to test out the new in-built camera software feature but I'll wait for my XS Max on Friday.
Need to leave some things to look forward to!

I'm with O2 on a sim-only deal. I pay £19.19 a month for 10GB data, unlimited calls and texts. EU Roaming.

Looking at Vodafone and EE they both offer 40GB data for £25 which is much more appealing as I always get low and slow down my usage as I'm aware I only have 10GB data.

Of the three, I'm thinking to move to EE now. I want the eSIM so I can also put my Vodafone business SIM in the phone. I guess this is the best move?

Does anyone have the reservation link available? The one where you can see if XsMax are available for pick up and refreshes every day?

Be interesting to see how Very deal with this for iPhone dispatch.
Badly I suspect.

Really not sure if i want the Apple leather case or not for my Xs Max!

Really like the cape cod blue and forest green.

Havent had one since the iPhone 6 and cant remember how much bulk they add?

The bulk to protection ratio is probably one of the best with the apple cases. I ordered a clear totallee case with a screen protector for my Max, but also a Apple leather case for when i go the gym or out out, just to get a little more drop security.

Still firmly on preparing for dispatch! It's unlikely to change before tomorrow night but that won't stop me checking every 2 minutes.

IUP makes no sense if you don’t upgrade. Why continue to pay for the X when I can get an XS for the same monthly cost. Doesn’t mean I won’t want a max :)

For me a max/plus size with a case makes a big phone bigger. I had a case in my 7+ ( silicon ) which added some weight but also made one handed use more difficult.

Just checked the weights and surprised buy the difference.

Never knew the 8+ was heavier than the 7+ (188g compared to 202g) - makes sense given the glass construction

The max is 208g so 20g more than when I last had a plus sized phone. Add a case on that and that’s putting me off more from the max

Anyone know how long you need to allow for delivery to Music Magpie? The quote is only valid so long as they receive the item within the 14 days/ Royal Mail guidance says tracked 48 is usually 2-3 business days - anyone got experience with MM of whether that holds true?

My quote is now valid until Monday 1st October - so if I send off on Monday, hopefully will be enough time.
