The money has now gone out of my account. I suspect the phones are on their way from China. Don’t think we will see any tracking until they reach Eindhoven, or maybe East Midland Airport, Thursday afternoon/evening.

Most launch day stock will only track once it leaves syncreon and handed over to dpd or ukmail. Most cases this will be post Thursday lunch time

I spoke with Apple on the phone about this earlier. They confirmed you can't just hand the phone back unless you're going the upgrade route. They also said if I used their giveback service it would be in the form of a Apple gift card.

I'm going to have to sell my 8 plus then use the cash to pay off the Barclays loan

Bugger. Looks like I’ll have to go iup again as mine is only worth £500. I owe Barclays £565.

I updated to iOS 12 last night on my X and iPad Pro.

Your in for a treat as, in my opinion, I reckon it’s their best main update for years. No flashy, unnecessary changes this time, just dramatic improvements in the performance and making existing things work properly.

Everything is super smooth, faster and much more stable. Early days but I have already noticed battery life has rapidly improved on my X.

Apple seems to be now thinking and understanding how we are using the OS instead of just adding new/useless features.

Feels like Usain Bolt after he’s had his Weetabix!

Now I am tempted to update my X to see the improvement. If I see 12 on the Xs for the first time, I’ll probably not know if it’s the os or the new device that’s snappier (hopefully both!)

You’re currently on IUP? You’ll get a pro rata refund on your apple care too

What does it work out as per month, to be able to calculate how much? Cheers

What if I was to use the Apple recycle when I get to the store and then get the AppleCare pro rata refund along with it? Do you think that would cover the difference to get rid of the iup and then start the iPhone payments?

I am really hoping my Xs Max bumps up a delivery slot. I am still showing “Your order is being processed” 25th Sept 1St Oct.
It is my fault for leaving it until the next morning!.
I was trying to talk myself out of it but I gave in to temptation.

I have been reading the American forum and they all are tracking the planes coming from China and most have their tracking links now.... Jealous.

So my apple care for the X is £199 and I’ve made 11 of 20 payments so I’d expect around (199/20)*9=£89.55 back (maybe little less as I’m in the current month)

If you want to close down IUP without upgrading, which it sounds like you want to do as you want IP, you’d need to close down the account with Barclays.

If you ‘apple recycle’ they’ll just give you the cash for the value of the phone. You’d then need to use it to pay off Barclays and the Apple care refund etc.

Apple recycle is not the best value, I’m getting £100 more from music magpie than from what Apple offer.

I am still tempted to go for the max, but pre ordered the xs. I used to have plus iPhones but I really like the size of my X right now.... I think I will take my chance and see if any max will be available on Saturday.

Hey,

Have you done this before? I only ask as I will be going ahead like this Friday but wondered where the AppleCare+ credit goes. Do you pay off Barclays and Apple refund you directly or do Apple refund to Barvlays and then you clear the remainder of the finanace after?

Thanks

Last years X, I had the 1-2 weeks for dispatch even after ordering at 8.08 on pre order day. That delivered 1 week after the launch and we saw movement on orders the Friday of launch. Fingers crossed it’s similar again and order progress Friday/Saturday for you all

Nice thanks. Only problem is I don’t have a second phone so I’d take the £100 hit just for the convenience really.

Ditto, I’m going to check out the max in store when I go to pick up my Xs on Friday. I always find myself convinced in store that I’ll be ok again with the plus size ( usually because I’m handling the phone case less and in reality I’ll have one on).

I’ll chance it and see if there’s any stock come Friday if tempted

Will be this Friday. Apple Pay it back to Barclays who pay you. A few on here have done so and it’s taken a few days to get the money

I couldn’t justify the xs from an X. I was going to skip but saw a nice shiny new 7Plus and remembered that the size wasn’t too bad and the extra screen estate made it worth it. Now I’ve ordered a XS Max and very much doubt I’ll be sending it back!!
Yet again Apple have sucked me in with the expensive items!!

You can check them out on Friday

Even though my reservation is for a slate grey iPhone XS, do you think they will allow me to change to a silver or gold model on the day, if I decide to switch colour?

All my iPhones, all the way since the iPhone 5, have all been slate grey, just because i didn't like the other colours. The silver XS looks more white than silver as the glass back is more a white colour - its only the surrounding material (where the buttons are etc) that is silver/chrome.
