...because black is just black isn't it?! It's not really a colour - its just what's left over when you taken the rest of the colour spectrum away!!!!! :D
I choose the black leather as it doesn't show dirt. Any of the other leather (with the exception of saddle brown) just looks dirty over time.

I've never understood people that say they can't reach the top of their phone..?!

I'm guessing you are one of the hundreds of people who hold the phone with 3 fingers on the back, your pinky finger at the bottom (the base of the phone, where the speakers are, rest on your pinky) and with your thumb, hovering over the screen, ready to navigate. Well, of course, in this position, then it is extremely difficult to reach the top of the display as your thumb, physically does not reach up there......

However.....

I have taught myself to hold the phone differently - with ALL four fingers, against the back of the phone (the phone rests at a 45 degree angle on the four fingers) with your thumb hovering above the screen ready to navigate. In this position, it is extremely easy to reach the top of the display and even well beyond it. Your fingers all hold the phone and your thumb navigates the screen.

It really irks me whenever I see iPhone users using their pinky as in the first method - it's no wonder they can't reach the top of the screen..!!!o_O

Care to provide a demonstration.
Your the “Dino” technique has piqued my interest.

I drooled every time I saw somebody with this one - the Nokia 7110:

View attachment 783744

Until I finally managed to get one temporarily and discovered that although it looked super cool, it was a beast to fit in your pockets and the WAP browser was ridiculously slow!!!

This phone was also sometimes wrongly referred to as the 'Matrix phone' as it had a striking resemblance to the handsets used in the very first Matrix film, however, that phone, was actually, the Nokia 8110:

;)

My absolute favorite phone along with the spring loaded 8800 series, loved those too, that really was the pinnacle of phone design.

I still have a couple somewhere.

slightly off topic.. best thing for me so far on iOS 12... not having the additional step to kill apps when swiping up with app switcher!

Agree, I still apply pressure out of habit :D...getting accustomed to a lot of updates from the Tips app

This does have me worried actually.. I've always been black leather.. but gone for Cape Cod blue this time.....time will tell!

....yep, me too - good old cape cod!!!!!!!
:p

I'm sitting in the middle, with midnight blue.

I've always found Midnight Blue way too dark as it changes to almost black over the year!!

....not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but its really not that hard to muster!!!

Here you go, I stepped it out for you (instructions for right hand use!)!!!!! ;)

1. Open your hand out flat!
2.Face hand to the left so that hand is parallel to the floor.
3. Place, with your left hand, the iPhone on outstretched right fingers across all four of them.
4. Manoeuvre phone so that bottom right corner rests in the fleshy part of your palm and palm is cradling phone.
5. Lift up phone and palm to 45 degree angle.
6. Use right thumb to navigate screen whilst all 4 fingers remain on the back.
7. Your right thumb should be able to reach to up to 3/4 of the screen.
8. To reach the final top quarter, un-cradle phone so that bottom right corner is no longer touching fleshy part in palm.
9. Move the 4 fingers downward (towards your body) so that right thumb is now able to reach the top 1/4 of phone!

I would post a vid but it's a little difficult trying to record my iPhone 8 Plus in my right hand from my iPhone 8 Plus camera!!!!

:p:p

...well if we are gonna talk about old handsets, these are just some of the ones I have owned in my lifetime:
(...)

I had only 6630 from this list. But I also had 6610 (first one), moto c550 (worst phone ever), k750i, than the 6630 (first symbian :(), n73 and then the iPhones.

Meanwhile, my case for XS arrived.

The package looks cheap, not like a premium product :(

Unfortunately, all of Apple's silicone cases come in this packaging - they are certainly not classed as premium. That's reserved for their leather cases which have much better quality packaging (an actual box with a pull out drawer).

Yeah that is exactly what I was expecting. My previous case was leather in package like you describe.

No sarcasm at all, I was quite serious.
And thank you I will try it on Friday.
Scratch that, just tried it on the x, it actually was more fun.

Cases finally came in.

I put in a couple more cases for comparison.

You should be fine. Most of the time the dirt is just dye from your jeans. I imagine the blue leather holds up really well.

I’ve gone for saddle brown. But I dont mind the dirt.

I tried and failed!! My X is too slippery!! That’s the only thing I’d change about these phones! I don’t want to use a case but have to because they’re so slippy! I use the super thin Peel case, the transparent one so at least I can see some of the design coming through!

Kicking myself now on not sticking with my Max pre-order for 21st - I cancelled it and went for one on the 6th to move the purchase out to next month, to better align with my upgrade window. Typically, it's moved forwards now to the 29th - so I should just have stayed with the 21st in that case. Doh!

Wow, the leather case packaging is so much more premium. Surely you'd think they'd be in the same packaging...?

For my XS Max I have also gone for the black leather to compliment the space grey.

I've had saddle brown on my silver X this year and the patina is amazing. Highly recommended.
