For my XS Max I have also gone for the black leather to compliment the space grey.

I've had saddle brown on my silver X this year and the patina is amazing. Highly recommended.
I’ve got a Space a grey XSM coming too (had silver last few years) and am thinking of that black leather case, but I’m worried it might be a bit too bulky, compared to a slim Tozo or Anker case...?

I've received my cases for my xs max from Apple (black and saddle brown leather case and black folio). I have them, they were delivered yesterday but no money has gone out of my account? Apple took the money for the Xs Max on Sunday? Any idea why they haven't taken payment for the cases? (not complaining mind!)

The leather case is definitely not bulky. IMO it's one of the slimmest cases around. You definitely won't be disappointed.

No sarcasm at all, I was quite serious.
And thank you I will try it on Friday.
Scratch that, just tried it on the x, it actually was more fun.

Cases finally came in.

I put in a couple more cases for comparison.

....nice carpet - or is that wallpaper?!

:p:p

Glad I chose good old Cape Cod - looks nice judging from your pic.

With my X, the saddle brown leather case has made it a bit bulkier - I didn't go for AppleCare last year so the extra protection was needed along with tempered glass screen protector. It is typical Apple high quality, never let me down this year and now looks amazing.

I am without AppleCare again this year plus, given the extra size, also hoping that the official Apple black leather case won't be too bulky on the XS Max.

We will know on Friday!

I personally prefer Tozo to Anker. For going out I used a slim Tozo on my 7 Plus, super lightweight, great fit, doesn't actually feel like its on the phone. Tozo market it as the 'world's thinnest', I'd ignore that but it is damn thin!
Minimal protection but if you've got AppleCare that won't matter...

I'm actually surprised that the iPhone X cases don't seem to fit the iPhone XS ones as I was actually gonna buy an iPhone X case for my XS as there appears to be a wider colour choice.
:(

It might do, it might not? I'll let you know on the day, see if I can squeeze the camera in the iPhone X case. I think as long as you use a flexible, soft case you should be fine. The camera is only slightly larger so it can't be too much of an issue.

Also, has anyones iPhone dispatched yet for September 21st? I'm still on Preparing Shipment...

yup that would work.. 10% off on a thousand pound is something hard to ignore

good old DPD last year releasing a CPW order one day early for someone who collected from the depot last year...
Do delivery couriers know what's in the parcel/package? I might just try and retrieve and see what they say. I doubt they'd care too much.

I get discount on Apple products due to working in a school (via UniDays). Last year I am sure I got discount on cases but doesn't appear to be showing this year - have they changed the products you can get discount on?

they're usually label with some form of notice to not release before xxx etc but some don't care.

doesn't usually happen though. As a courier you wouldn't want to be seen annoying what would be a rather large and lucrative client in Apple.

Received a dispatch notification & my heart rate increased to an unhealthy level thinking it was my XS Max shipping!

Only the accessories!

I have two MacBooks so have the appropriate bricks.. I just couldn't make myself pay Apple's prices for the USBc to Lightening cable.. eye watering...

hoping for some MFI certified 3 party ones soon.. can't believe it will take half a year! https://9to5mac.com/2018/09/05/mfi-usb-c-lightning-cables/

Wow, the leather case packaging is so much more premium. Surely you'd think they'd be in the same packaging...?
regardless, after 5 minutes the packaging ends up in the bin anyway :)

apple spent long enough touting their environmentally friendly-ness.. they should have ditched the plastic!

Hmm, I'll try my luck. I doubt they will care. If they cared, they won't chuck my packages about and/or deliver to the wrong addresses. Just waiting for that dispatch.

Anyway, what times does it usually get delivered, let's say, if you are 35 mins away from the depot? Never had expereince with an iPhone pre-order.

They stopped education discount some time ago on anything apart from Mac hardware, unfortunately.

no idea, depends on the routing algorithm your courier uses, number of parcels, traffic, if he gets done for speeding... you get what I mean :)

you'll get an hour window once it leaves the depot on Friday morning if its DPD or UKMAIL

And make no mistake, Apple can tell exactly which courier company did release stuff early based on activations.

My order is still processing no sign of movement yet

Same here, but that's because I'm collecting in store. It'll probably change Thursday evening.
