Has a new iPhone ever been delivered earlier than release day in the U.K?
not sure about delivered but defo collected one day early, albeit not an apple order but from a 3rd party (CPW in this case)

given Apple doesn't hand over the phones to couriers until Thursday, its will be a minor miracle if they managed to get it into the hands of a customer that same day. if there's going to be a mistake, it will be the Dixons group!

OK, I've updated the first post FAQs (not that anyone reads them )

Apple has taken funds buy my order still shows 'preparing for dispatch'?
Pre-orders which are due for launch day delivery will usually see a change of order status to 'dispatched' the day before delivery. Launch day stock is typically sitting at Apple's logistics partner, Syncreon, in Hinkley. The devices are handed over to a local courier (DPD or UKMail) from around the afternoon onwards on the day before. From this point your tracking would become active.

I have two MacBooks so have the appropriate bricks.. I just couldn't make myself pay Apple's prices for the USBc to Lightening cable.. eye watering...

hoping for some MFI certified 3 party ones soon.. can't believe it will take half a year! https://9to5mac.com/2018/09/05/mfi-usb-c-lightning-cables/
[doublepost=1537366918][/doublepost]
regardless, after 5 minutes the packaging ends up in the bin anyway :)

apple spent long enough touting their environmentally friendly-ness.. they should have ditched the plastic!

I've got an iPad Pro and older MacBook Air (different connection) and for a long time I have been putting off paying Apple's extortionate prices for the USB-C 30W charger.

I finally bit the bullet for faster XS Max & iPad charging. Plus extra £ for the USB-C to lightning lead!

Good info. there, I'm struggling to understand why any MFI certified 3rd party chargers are still not yet available!

Re. wireless charging I will remain hopeful for the Air Power, most likely to no avail now.

this was the most disappointing thing for me from the key note... AirPower wiped off the face of the planet and the delay that is having in a potential AirPods 2 (or a update with a changing case bundled) being available.

my wireless Jaybirds are possessed and keep switching themselves on and dealing people... I need new toys!

I seem to recall from previous years it all getting exciting from 14:00 tomorrow :)
sounds about right! waiting for that ready to pick up notification :D

first time in years I've got launch day stock.. missed out on the X and 7+ (that delayed jet black) all the way back to the 6.. the 5S was the last one I had in my hands on launch day.

I'll have to go and get the 2019 thread started come Friday!

I received the order email at 08:05 last Friday. My order status is "Preparing for dispatch" and has been since Friday afternoon.

Apple charged my card for all three items - iPhone, Leather Case and Watch - the same day.
Seperate transaction authorisations for each item.

This week:
Monday - iPhone transaction appeared and confirmed on my online statement, it's no longer a pending transaction
Tuesday - Watch transaction appeared and confirmed on my online statement, it's no longer a pending transaction

Nothing really that special here, expect they don't usually commit the transaction until day before delivery.

What's weird, is that Apple have shipped and I have received the Leather Case. Yet the authorisation for this has dropped off my account and it's not appeared on my online statement.

Bizarre Apple ordering and transactions this year!

Never seen it like this and I've always bought it like this since the iPhone 5.

.....I still do!!!!
:)

I read them too! Always very grateful for the effort.
[doublepost=1537372540][/doublepost]So last year I got an 8 instead of an X and regretted it everyday since! So this year I saved up and was all in so I've ordered a max. I'm now worried that is going to be too big!

My friend has an 8+ and according to apple the max is going to be the same size and a couple of grams heavier. I've been playing an his phone and God it feels heavy and comber some. I'm now worried I've made the wrong decision again!

It appears that the best deal i can get out of EE as an upgrade is a 64gb XS with 100GB data/unlimited calls /txts on the MAX plan for 58 a month with 70 upfront ,anybody got a better deal than this with EE ?

Plus the weight/bulk of any case you might add.

I’m going to see them in store on Friday when I got to collect mine. I doubt I’ll change my mind and will stick with the XS but if.. if I do, I’ll see if there’s any sneaky stock I can pick up

Just checked and seen there is a charge for £1045.72 for the 256 XS Max so seems we are good to go.

Had to contact Apple store in USA to get the payment card charged as it kept rejecting the first card I used last Friday. Whole call lasted 30 mins, thank goodness for Skype.

Will pick up from store on Sat in Vegas when we get back from the Grand Canyon. Good luck to all those who have preordered.

I’ve been looking at the Casetify armour ones . You can pick your colour or even stick your own pics on them. I’ve had one of theirs before and quite good quality

I also regret not getting the X last year. I've also now gone for a Max. I'm hoping I'll be happy with it.
I think if I had got an X last year I'd not have bothered with this years phones.

Bit of a random question but there’s been some talk about cases on here, I was wondering if anyone has some pictures of how the Leather Midnight Blue Case ages over time? :)

I usually go with black but decided to shake it up this year. Not the biggest fan of a patina/aged look you get with lighter shades like brown and red etc.
