Ugh! I'd forgotten how bad iOS is. Coming from a Samsung Galaxy S9 I quickly realised I could not do things I was accustomed to on Android. The widgets are terrible as are the notifications. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade, but the phone is now back in the box and I'll return it to the Apple Store tomorrow. There is no way I could justify £999 for that!

This is a "PEBCAK" issue, or in this case "PEBCAP".

You're used to Android. You know how to do things there. You like the way it works there, and how it looks. You don't want to change your habits.

That's fine - but this doesn't mean iOS is bad, it just means it's not for you though choice.

There's nowt wrong with that, I'm the same in the other direction. I will admit that Android's good though - it's just not for me and that is a choice I make for many reasons.

Oh dear, see. Likely want's it to go missing. .I'm never doing an order for delivery again, that was my thought when i chanced it this morning HIGH Value product - I feel for those who didn't order from Apple if issues arise with deliveries.

Hope it works out for you.

Nah, I don't think it's likely to go missing. They're tracked within an inch of their lives (iPhones and the courier).

This will simply be down to the number of drops they've got left of the day. Had too many to deliver, for whatever reason (traffic, slow customers, whatever) are behind where they want to be, and it's Friday... If a few "people are out", it speeds up the end of the day. Don't try and deliver to everyone and that gets them into trouble.

It sucks, and I'm not defending it... But it's not great pay, and it's not a great job I can imagine... Overworked, underpaid and especially on days like today. :(

I personally would say 256GB if you can budget for it, I was happy with 64GB for 6 months and then just started to regret it

For peace of mind I think this is what I will end up doing. I have 64gb in the S8 at the moment with a 64gb SD card so at least if I have 256gb I won't have to worry to much about storage :)

DPD were on point today as per, received at midday as per the text notification I got first thing.

Restored my new XS max via iTunes easily enough but its taking hours (literally) to download all my apps

My work wifi is pretty poor (10mbps on average) but not poor enough to justify (for example) instagram taking over an hour to download. Am I doing something wrong?

Very happy with everything else thus far, the focus pull on portrait mode is nuts. So good.

This is my iPhone 2018 delivery saga -
On Thursday I received a notification that DPD would deliver to a local Halfords due to an app setting from a long time ago. I phoned and found out that the option was not reversible and the delivery could only be made to the shop.

Today the DPD app has reported that the package was at the depot awaiting delivery all day. At 16:30 I phoned DPD and whilst in the queue, the DPD delivery driver knocks on the door with my iPhone because the depot manager asked him to drop it off on his way home. Full marks to the delivery guy he was really cool.

I’m restoring from backup and waiting for HSBC to finish downloading but it’s been “loading” for ages without making progress. Did you manage to sort yours out?
HSBC have confirmed that it doesn’t work on new phones. Possibly an update this weekend but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Search back through this thread and you will see a lot of people saying that they are getting the speeds you are seeing on three, some are seeing OK speeds but I would say that the majority of posts were very negative.

Picked up my silver 256gb max this afternoon from Leeds Apple store, painless process joining IUP and done in 15mins or so.

Loving the phone and the screen size increased is welcomed although only slight regret is possibly not getting the gold version.

Good news and bad news.

Bad news, my gold iPhone has a pink shift at the top.

Good news my space gray doesn’t.

Looks like I’m going to have to exchange it.

I finally found the time to set it up, it was so easy! You don't need the iOS 12 on the old iPhone iOS 11 is good too!
I absolutely love the screen and the smaller size. The phone is much lighter and the gold color is a beauty! Even my mom said that!
FaceID is seamless, no home button - who cares!? I love the phone!

I’ve had the worst dpd delivery man ever!

Delivery due between 1535-1635 then got changed to 0600-2000 as the delivery was behind (been tracking it on the dpd app).

And then I saw te dpd van at 1645 reversing and left! So i tracked it down again and it says it was refused and return to consignor was requested????

Oh i am absolutely fuming:mad: calling dpd don’t help either as super busy!

I didn't expect to be this bad been reading the forum over last two week regarding to 3uk people getting slow speeds/signal issue decided to take my chances this Tuesday what bad mistake no wonder why they are giving away all u can eat data for £59.
Because the network is this slow another speedtest showing a bit better now 2.69mb.

What should I do?
Can I cancel my three contract purchased preorder online this Tuesday.
Should I pay extra for EE contract.
help.
I assume you had the phone delivered to you?

if so, you'll have 14 days to cancel. I'd make a decision quickly and act on it.

Act within the cooling-off period. If you entered into the contract over the phone, online or on your doorstep, you have 14 calendar days to cancel the contractunder the Consumer Contracts Regulations. The cooling-off period starts the day after you agree to go ahead with the service.

edit: http://www.three.co.uk/support/cancel-contract

If you bought it from Three Telesales or online at Three.co.uk: If, within 14 days of receiving your purchase, you decide you want to return or exchange a Device or Accessory you can:
- call us on 333 (Free, unless you’re on one of our new Essential Plans, in which case it will come out of any available minutes allowance or charged at your out of allowance rate of 55p per minute) from your Phone or 0333 338 1001 (standard call charges apply) for Phone customers;
