Ok peeps.

I had a random trip to Bluewater after work this evening. Apple store was very busy with lots of people queuing to collect their new iPhones and Apple watches.

I had a good play around with the Xs Max and absolutely fell in love with it. It’s slightly shorter than my s8+ but a bit wider and I prefer that. I can’t even describe how gorgeous the OLED screen is.

Once I’m out of work tomorrow I will be heading straight to EE to upgrade. I would have done it tonight but time was getting on as I didn’t get there until gone 8.

My order says tracking coming soon, but it's going to a local Spar and not JL store. First time I've not bought direct from Apple.

So happy I went with the Silver model iPhone XS. Always had Black/Space Grey in the past and this is a nice change.
I also love the fact it's black at the front.

The polished stainless steel looks stunning, and the white back is a beautiful contrast from the front.

Heading to the Apple Lakeside store tomorrow morning to pick up a blue case for it.

So happy I went with the Silver model iPhone XS. Always had Black/Space Grey in the past and this is a nice change.
I also love the fact it's black at the front.

Same choice as me. Never liked the silver previously because of the white front plate, but it’s easily the most stunning of the colours in the X-style design.

I’m really impressed with my XS. Upgraded from an 8 Plus because I wanted something smaller and lighter that still had a decent screen size. Not missing the extra screen space at all. Cannot see what the fuss about the notch and faceID was last year. Both are total non-issues - particularly faceID. It just works so well that after five minutes use, you forget it’s even there.

So did anyone manage to go refund->iUP of an online delivery order in store today?

Gonna try first thing tomorrow morning unless people have not had success this year round.

As such, I got the phone at 11 this morning but haven't opened it yet!

RE: the Belkin protector, I've not been too happy with the one on my X because it's hard to swipe from top (sharp around the notch) and depending on the angle doesn't fully cover the sides of the screen. Are the so-called 'full coverage' protectors any good?

The only problem I have with Face ID is the fact that I can’t unlock it when it’s laid down on my desk, I have to pick it up and direct the screen towards me. Other than that though, it is completely flawless. It’s even better than Touch ID, the fact that I can just swipe up and it’s already unlocked is super convenient.

Did the same move last year for my X, always previously had Space Grey iPhones. The Space Grey is a bit, I don’t know, dull ? on the X/XS. Still think Silver is the pick of the range.

I was going to get one put on at my local Liverpool store but put a cheap one on straight after unboxing and amazingly it's on perfectly! There was two sets of bubbles on at first but (again) amazingly they have disappeared! Bought these ones off Amazon;

Well got my phone from Carphone Warehouse, very impressed that they did deliver next day. Phone apple and cancelled phone that was on order and then purchased AppleCare for this phone. Glad I waited to get the Xs max as coming from a 7plus has made it easier. I would have been disappointed with a smaller screen.

I had a regular glass screen on my X initially and I found the swiping a pain with the glass edges. I soon changed to a full coverage one and it made a big difference. The full coverage ones are so much better. Just beware that not all cases will work with them.

Having had an 8 Plus for a year, I can honestly say it was a completely useless feature. Apps landscape are sometimes good. The home screen, when all your icons have moved, is nothing but an annoyance.

FaceID has genuinely shocked me - I expected to be missing TouchID a lot by now, but I’m not at all. Got my first non-black/grey iPhone today after 10 years and the white and silver look great. The white is sort of pearlescent, and photos don’t do it justice. I feel bad covering it up with my leather case, but I usually go caseless after about 6 months or so.

Little tip for anyone that got a leather case and has stiff buttons: take the case off and press the buttons for a few minutes each to stretch them a little and refit the case. Buttons feel great now.

The bigger screen is welcome and the whole phone is blazing fast. Love it.

This might be because of the several drinks tonight or that I’m a massive Apple geek but the iPhone XS in Gold is one of the most stunning tech I’ve even seen.

I love Apple so much, today has been a great day.
