So i've just called and cancelled my X AppleCare and they're refunding £112.74 back to Barclays for me.

I have £575.55 left on my loan, minus the AppleCare refund, leaving me £187.19 better off after selling my X to magpie for £650!

crazy how people will be just going into store and handing them back in and swapping for a new phone.. apple are raking it in with IUP.

I did this. Owed Barclays £639, got £114 back on AC+ and locked in £650 with MM so this is £125 in my pocket. Unfortunately tho I got turned down today on iUP which I was not happy about as I have a perfect credit rating so I was a little irate. I initially paid the £1249 upfront but I am returning it tomorrow as I just upgraded my sim only deal with O2 for £62.50 per month which is cheaper than iUP without a sim only contract on top of it...

Quick question guys!!!!

John Lewis, I see they offer there version of AppleCare for other iPhones but can’t find it as an option on the XS?

Anyone had experience from previous launches of buying it?

It seems better than AppleCare and cheaper!!
Not heard of this? How's it better? I just bought AC+ for my XS Max.

I popped in apple at the bullring around 6ish and they had most of the series 4 watches in stock and all but the smaller capacity gold iPhones in stock. Very surprised. No queues outside either, you could literally just walk in and buy them. Don’t know whether that’s apple on form or the fact that demand hasn’t been amazing?!?

Both I’d say. For a s year it’s a pretty quiet one. Many who how’s splashed a grand last year are probably not feeling it’s worth the change

I was with them for a while but their speeds suffered in London so I changed to EE last year. Must better call

I was going to put up some pictures comparing the X and XS Max. But looks like there's a lot around. I'm already loving the extra screen space. Just need to wait for the app developers to update their apps.

I didn't have problems with Three in the country... (live in Scotland) But as soon I was abroad, the signal was constrained to 3G and the internet was really slow... Also localization services didn't work well. I don't know why other phones worked od the same network with full speed. Because they were native? My polish card (Orange) works well everywhere.
New contract is on Vodafone, we will see how it goes...

Quick question....!

When buying Apps via the App Store on the XS, as well as the phone going through the usual Face ID process, it also asks me to double click the power button before the app will start to download?!

Does it do this for every app because it’s quite annoying to have to double click the power button every time I buy an app? Is there a way to turn this off?

I was under the impression that PayPay Credit offers 0% Finance (as shown on their website - perhaps for new customers only?) but upon going through the process, it seems that both PayPal and Barclays both do 14.9% interest only....?

Man, UKMail have made themselves look really stupid!

They did not turn up and then claimed that “delivery attempted”.

Hmmmm

1. No card
2. Nobody at the door as proven by security cameras
3. “View event” showed the wrong street name, wrong post code, wrong Town and wrong county

Muppets!

If they said, traffic caused delays or something... fair enough... but why lie?

The Xs - I got the 64GB Space Grey - is absolutely amazing: super fast and responsive. Not much bigger than my 8 at all but clearly the screen is a lot more immersive because that is a lot bigger. I thought I’d hate the notch - I always turn it off on my Android phones - but it’s honestly fine.

The good news is the screen protector I ordered fits perfectly and covers the entire OLED and a bit around it which is a lot better than my iPhone 8 one which causes a rainbow effect.

I’ve ordered a Speck Presidio Grip for my iPhone Xs, the Speck site seems to imply their X cases fit the Xs so hopefully I won’t have any issues.

I bought the Belkin glass protector which Apple provide - they installed it on my XS in store using their applicator tool, which results in a 100% perfect install. Had that done to my 8 Plus last year and the protector lasted all year without a single blemish.

Did cost £29.95 though.....!
