...are you able to expand on this - in what way exactly?!

...it does now:

EDIT - Seems that this is only for U.S. customers.
I mean, it’s a pretty straight foward concept. To my eye the screen feels smaller. If you’d like to point out the part that you’re struggling with I am happy to help.

My original post was just to give someone else food for thought. Didn’t expect an inquisition.

I missed the part where they said dual Sim won’t be available immediately. I’m so disappointed that real dual Sim is only sold in China, eDim is useless as hardly any carriers offer it. I need cheap UK PAYG eSim, currently

I am very doubtful as well but have just done a chat with 3 and they’re insisting you can use 2 physical SIM cards. I made them send an email confirmation, although I see they’ve left out the word “physical”.
“The iPhone XS and XS Max both take a Nano SIM, and for the first time ever in an iPhone, now support Dual SIM capabilities. Three will offer the dual SIM iPhones (iPhone XS and XS Max).

They will support 2 SIM cards and you will be able to use 2 SIM cards / numbers in one of the above model.
They do not need to be Three SIM cards. You can use any GSM SIM cards from any network as the phone will be pre unlocked. It will be sent unlocked and you do not have to make any request to unlock it. It is factory unlocked.”
I can see the spin here. Yes you can use the dual-SIM feature on the iPhone with Three.

But it must be EE (eSIM) + Three (or any other carrier). Like, any other unlocked iPhone. Lol, full props to Three.

But they did say two SIM cards and that any GSM SIM cards will work. To me that indicates two physical SIMs.

Edit: I realise I’m probably being far too optimistic here, but it is the most important consideration for me and the only reason I may get a new phone.

The UK models will be
iPhone XS Model A2097
iPhone XS Max Model A2101

China models
iPhone XS Model A2100
iPhone XS Max Model A2104

Three will not be getting the Chinese models.

Three are wrong, plain and simple. Every bit of information that has come from Apple has said that the only market to get the XS Max that has physical dual sim capability is China. Everywhere else gets 1xSim and 1xeSim.

I don't understand why anyone would trade in their phone to Apple on iUP or iPP, you are essentially giving apple free money. After 11 months, your phone is worth more than what is left on the loan. Selling to Mizuma Mobile or Envirophone or any of those guys is literally a case of filling in the form, putting phone in box (that they send you) drop off at post office, and 2 days later the cash is in your account. My example this year:

Trade in to Apple, Apple pays off £340 left on balance of loan. I get a new phone.
Trade in to Mizuma, I get £460, I pay off the £340. I get a new phone+£120.

I don't know - looking at my iUP agreement, after 11 months I'll still owe £508 to Barclays. Mizuma will give me £520 for it, so only £12 better off. Easier to just walk in store and give it to Apple.

I wonder if Apple will now stick with the 'Max' monicker for the next few iPhone generations - so we'll have an iPhone 11 Max instead of 11 Plus and iPhone 12 Max instead of 12 Plus?!!

You have probably waited too long. Mazuma reduced all the prices yesterday, mine went down by £45. Also I guess the benefit is reduced with iUP because your paying off the AppleCare as well which has no intrinsic value when reselling. iPP is better in this regards...

Has any one seen price plan prices yet for EE?

Also, regarding eSim, if I ordered through ee, but then my work sim is Vodafone, will I require the phone unlocking to be able to use a sim from another network?

LOL - we have Bloomberg on here in the office and one of the panellists just sarcastically laughed when he asked his fellow presenters whether Steve Jobs would have ever allowed an iPhone to be called "iPhone X S Max" - I kinda agree with that!!!

I’m told you can be refunded for any remaining AppleCare on an iUP.

Yeah you're kind of are lol. Three will not have special iPhones that no other Chinese/HK carrier has in the world.

You can try, but don't be surprised that you'll have a normal XS/XR/Max.

Interesting. I have never done iUP only iPP, I have my own (much cheaper) insurance so have never needed AppleCare. If that is the case though, there is your benefit of trading in to a third-party again as that would be what another £100 worth.

Remember the balance with Barclays also had your remaining AppleCare included. Cancel the Apple care and you’ll also be refunded the remaining balance. Well Apple Pay
Barclays who pay you

I’ve decided not to go for the XS and will look for a well looked after used X 256GB instead.

It’s just too much money, tempted by the XR though!

This may have been answered before but regarding the IUP, if i manage to reserve an XS Max 64GB tomorrow morning, to be collected next week and choose IUP do i have to part with any money or go through a credit check at the time i place a pre-order or does this all take place when i go to collect the phone?

Wowzers I didn't realise that AppleCare was £9.95/Month, thats over £100 worth youd get back too. So definitely better even on iUP to trade elsewhere rather than Apple.
