So iPhone payments is gonna be the cheapest way, not fussed on AppleCare I have it covered through my bank and house insurance

Yup. iPP + SIM ONLY from your chosen provider has been the cheapest way to own an iPhone over carriers contracts for a few years now. Plus you get the flexibility of trading in every year and starting again for no added cost. For me, ive paid basically the same for the last two years and had a new phone every year...

Having never done IPP before is it straight forward is it Store collection or delivery

.....well, I'm gonna bid farewell to this thread for today - see you all on the other side, after 08:01 tomorrow!

I'll be frantically refreshing my Apple Store App on my faithful iPhone 8 Plus from 08:00 onwards, on a packed commuter train, putting in my reservation to pick up a 64Gb iPhone XS (still undecided between Silver or Space Grey  ).

Good Luck people......

Do you recycle the phone or sell privately?

All in store and credit check there. Check the links so you know what id you’ll need. There have been cases of people not being accepted by Barclays so think about options if you don’t pass their requirements

Sorry for the stupid question but is the XS going to hold up to scratches better than the X? I just went to the carphone warehouse and the display X was in a right state and scratched to bits.

Tomorrow is gonna be fun! :D
I have a feeling it’s all going to be pretty straightforward tomorrow. I can’t imagine a large proportion of those with last year’s models will be jumping on the new ones. I think the XR will be the one that’s a struggle to get this year.

iPhone Payments is available only at an Apple Store.
Here’s what you’ll need to bring.
Your personal information and bank details.
You will be asked to provide your date of birth, employment details, and UK home address(es) from the last three years for a credit check. You will also need your bank account number and sort code to set up a direct debit.
A valid photo ID.
Make sure you bring along your UK driving licence, or your passport and debit card.
Your current mobile phone.
If you’re upgrading from another iPhone, remember to back up your data to your computer or iCloud. You’ll also want to take note of your Apple ID. If you’re upgrading to your first iPhone, one of our Specialists can help you transfer all your data with the Move to iOS app.

I’d rather pay double than use three again
Depends on area to be honest I get 70meg on my three sim.
But three is terrible in the city centre's max speed I get is 10meg or less doesn't bother me much as I said I don't benchmark speedtest 24/7 trying to get the highest speeds.
10meg is fine for netflix and applemusic on the go to work and back.

I agree. I think that XR is going to be this years star and the one that most people will buy. The critics seem to think so. I also think it will be a good discounted buy even 3 years down the line
